AML Legacy's Accoyo Leonardo

HuacayaHerdsire (Male)Beige
AOA# 848970DOB: 10/2/200321 yrs
Leonardo's crias began to arrive in 2006, and he is consistently passing on his overall "look" and stunning fiber. Leonardo's first cria, in 2006, AML Nobility has had a phenomenal show record: Five Color Championships, three Reserve Color Championships, and nine blue ribbons; plus Judge's Choice and Best Crimp at the 2009 MAPACA as a two-year-old And other of his crias have shown well too: **AML Susanah (grey): One Color Championship **Pine Hill’s Crème Brulee (medium fawn): Three first places, one second place **Calidad Cruise Control (white): Three second places, one third place (in highly competitive white male juvie classes) **Calidad Roxanne: One first place (only show) You won't find many other working males with histogram results to compare to Leonardo's. Leonardo's micron count at 5 years of age is only 21.6, and as you can see from the annual histograms below on the left, his statistics have remained the same for four years in a row (since he was a yearling)! One of our primary breeding goals is fineness that lasts as the alpaca ages, and Leonardo is helping us achieve that goal. Leonardo is one of very few full Accoyo sons of 4P Legacy, now deceased, a herdsire who was legendary for his fiber remaining very fine past ten years of age and for producing highly prized offspring. With 4Peruvian Legacy as his sire and Accoyo Grand Master daughter as his grandsire, Leonardo has spectacular lineage. He has beautiful, fine, bright, soft, crimpy, consistent fleece. Solid bone, a pleasing head, and all-around excellent conformation complete the picture of a top herdsire. One judge described him at 3-1/2 years old as a "superb male." A half interest in Leonardo is for sale. I plan to retain the other half interest. Fleece samples and histograms are available for multiple years.

Dam: Penumbra's Penelope

Penumbra, Cahuide, Demetrio

Penumbra's Penelope

HuacayaBred (Female)Light Brown
AOA# 832853DOB: 9/20/200123 yrs
Penumbra Penelope’s fleece is incredibly dense and crimpy, with exceptional coverage and consistency of character down her chest, belly, and legs. She has excellent conformation and a sweet, gentle temperament. Penelope is the 1/4 Accoyo daughter of bay black Penumbra, who has won three blue ribbons for his fleece, including the AOBA National's 2002 spin-off. Penelope is also the granddaughter of both 3Peruvian (Accoyo) Cahuide, owned by Amanda VandenBosch, and 2Peruvian Demetrio. She is half sister to Penumbra’s Persia, a multi-champion member of our foundation herd. Her blanket is a solid light brown throughout; her front legs are white, and she has some darker brown around her ankles. Bred to grey (Avatar), Penelope produced a beautifully fleeced roan/fawn son, Rudy; bred to black (KPR Aladdin), she produced a light brown and white daughter. Bred to our full accoyo Legacy son, Leonardo, Penelope produced a lovely pinto daughter, Penelope's Fiesta, in May 2008--Fiesta has dark brown/grayish patches around her eyes and ankles. This same breeding previously produced a solid black cria. Penelope was held over the winter and has been bred back to AML Legacy's Accoyo Leonardo.

Description

Calidad Fiesta is a quality pinto female (white and dark fawn on her blanket, plus rose grey and dark brown around her eyes and ankles). She is an eye-catcher--her markings are striking and symmetrical. Sired by our Accoyo Leonardo and Penumbra's Penelope, Fiesta is a grandaughter of 4P Legacy and AOBA spin-off winner Penumbra, as well as the great-grandaughter of both 3P Cahuide (owned by Amanda VandenBosch) and 2Peruvian Demetrio. Quality lineage. Fiesta will be bred to true black Color Champion Canzelle's Zambezi. This breeding alone is worth $3000!
