Super Sam's Sire!

Coyo Destini

HuacayaHerdsire (Male)White
AOA# 161604DOB: 1/19/1996
Coyo Destini has had an enormous impact on the Canadian herd. Purchased as a yearling in 1997 in the U.S. by the highly respected AOBA judge Kristin Buhrmann, he formed the cornerstone of her family's high-level, prize-winning breeding program at Mountain Meadow Ranch in Alberta, Canada until 2002. Coyo Destini has well over 100 offspring on the ground, but his genetics are rare in the U.S., especially on the East Coast. Imported in utero from the Accoyo Ranch in Peru, Coyo Destini's sire is unknown (and remained in Peru). His dam, 3Peruvian Caliente, has been a top producer for Timberland Alpacas on the West Coast, where she was recently retired from breeding. A two-time grand champion in Canada himself, Coyo Destini has produced offspring that have dominated the Canadian show ring. HFL Super Sam, owned by High Plains Alpacas in Saskatchewan, is a stunning example. Breeders familiar with Coyo Destini know him to consistently pass on long-lasting fineness, good density, well-defined crimp, and his trademark gentle temperament. A large percentage of Coyo's male offspring are working herdsires, and he is known to be an easy breeder. He has also produced a range of color. ************************** Sadly, Coyo Destini passed away in Maine on January 6, 2009, at 13 years of age. What a wonderful male he was—such a gentleman and the producer of some phenomenal offspring. He will be missed.

Dam: Calidad Ipanema

Beautiful Bay Black

Calidad Ipanema

HuacayaBred (Female)Bay Black
AOA# 1178159DOB: 9/5/200420 yrs
Calidad Ipanema is a bay black 1/2 Accoyo full Peruvian. Her sire is the well-known Accoyo The Last Don, and her dam is Peruvian Cassandra, one of our prized foundation females. One of Ipanema's half-brothers is our future herdsire, Calidad Harbinger, blue-ribbon winner at 2005 MAPACA. Another half-brother is ScF Lucky Luciano, who took color championships at his first four shows entered. Ipanema has excellent overall conformation with solid bone and a straight topline. Her fleece is soft and crimpy with full coverage and uniform color throughout. Ipanema matured rapidly, something she probably inherited from her dark mahogany brown dam, who is an easy breeder and birther, and a fantastic mother. Ipanema became pregnant on her very first breeding (like mother, like daughter). She gave birth on September 22, 2006 to a beautiful fawn female named Calidad Victoria, sired by our full accoyo herdsire, Coyo Destini. Victoria is now owned by Debbie Hirt of West Penn Alpacas. Ipanema did it again: another beautiful female cria born in September 2007, Calidad Coyo Destini's Belle Curve, a second place winner at the 2008 MAPACA. Belle Curve will remain in our foundation herd. Her price does not include her cria due in September. She will be bred back to the Calidad herdsire of your choice.

Service Sire: AML Legacy's Accoyo Leonardo

Champion offspring!

AML Legacy's Accoyo Leonardo

HuacayaHerdsire (Male)Beige
AOA# 848970DOB: 10/2/200321 yrs
Leonardo's crias began to arrive in 2006, and he is consistently passing on his overall "look" and stunning fiber. Leonardo's first cria, in 2006, AML Nobility has had a phenomenal show record: Five Color Championships, three Reserve Color Championships, and nine blue ribbons; plus Judge's Choice and Best Crimp at the 2009 MAPACA as a two-year-old And other of his crias have shown well too: **AML Susanah (grey): One Color Championship **Pine Hill’s Crème Brulee (medium fawn): Three first places, one second place **Calidad Cruise Control (white): Three second places, one third place (in highly competitive white male juvie classes) **Calidad Roxanne: One first place (only show) You won't find many other working males with histogram results to compare to Leonardo's. Leonardo's micron count at 5 years of age is only 21.6, and as you can see from the annual histograms below on the left, his statistics have remained the same for four years in a row (since he was a yearling)! One of our primary breeding goals is fineness that lasts as the alpaca ages, and Leonardo is helping us achieve that goal. Leonardo is one of very few full Accoyo sons of 4P Legacy, now deceased, a herdsire who was legendary for his fiber remaining very fine past ten years of age and for producing highly prized offspring. With 4Peruvian Legacy as his sire and Accoyo Grand Master daughter as his grandsire, Leonardo has spectacular lineage. He has beautiful, fine, bright, soft, crimpy, consistent fleece. Solid bone, a pleasing head, and all-around excellent conformation complete the picture of a top herdsire. One judge described him at 3-1/2 years old as a "superb male." A half interest in Leonardo is for sale. I plan to retain the other half interest. Fleece samples and histograms are available for multiple years.

Description

***2008 PRESTIGE ALPACA AUCTION*** Lot 21 Mountaineer Resort, Chester, WV June 21, 2008 Calidad Victoria is 3/4 Accoyo fawn out of a bay black dam. She has a long staple length, density, AND a 15.6 micron fiber diameter (at 8 months of age), combining both fineness and density in one package. Victoria's fiber displays a uniform crimp throughout. The judge at the 2007 NECC commented on the exceptional fineness of her fleece at one year of age. Amanda VandenBosch also commented on Victoria's long staple length and density, saying "she really packs on the fleece." Victoria is a uniform medium fawn with dark rims around her eyes and dark toenails. She is very "typey" with strong bone and a compact, solid frame. She also has a very calm nature, a trait her sire is known to pass on to his offspring. Victoria is a 3/4 Accoyo sired by our herdsire Coyo Destini, which makes her a half sister of the amazing Canadian herdsire, HFL Super Sam. Both Victoria's dam, Calidad Ipanema (a bay black daughter of Accoyo The Last Don) and her granddam, Peruvian Cassandra, are members of our foundation herd, steady producers, and excellent moms. Victoria was bred in May 2008 to AML Legacy's Accoyo Leonardo, our beige full accoyo herdsire, for a 7/8 accoyo cria (awaiting confirmation of pregnancy). Leonardo has already produced black from a fawn dam, and his first two crias to go into the show ring this past fall both took color championships. Calidad Victoria (Lot 21) is available June 21 at the Prestige Alpaca Auction at the Mountaineer Resort in Chester, WV.
