Our Snowmass Nova son has arrived and has already begun his breeding career. His density will amaze you. His coverage is fantastic. He has great crimp a nice soft hand. As of July 23 2013 he has had 3 cria delivered. All 3 solid colored females. 2 brown and 1 fawn out of brown females. He is everything we were hoping for in a herd sire. His 2014 crop of cria are incredible. We started with a true black and the rest are light fawn or white. However, several were born at only 9 or 10 pounds. At first I thought it was due to the harsh winter only. But when these tiny creatures got up and nursed and refused to take any supplementing, I knew that Jekyll will produce smaller sized cria. He is on the small side himself. So if you are interested in developing smaller alpacas, this is the herdsire for you. We brought a couple of our very small yearlings to the Michigan Show this Fall. Our True black came in 5th in a competitive class of 9. Expecting to get the gate because of his size, we were so pleased that his wonderful fleece qualities kept him in the top 6. One of the whites was in a class of ten very large alpacas. He did get the gate but the judge made a point of letting us know how great the fiber was but he was just so small. Now we are committed to trying to explore the possibility of creating a smaller yet high quality line of huacaya alpaca. He will be very useful also to breed with females that may be a little smaller and not have to worry about her having a large cria. We have his fee at $200. We are willing to discount for multiple breedings. Jekyll is producing beautiful cria that are often smaller but still very nice quality

Blendon Pines Star Scream

HuacayaBred (Female)Medium Brown
AOA# 31013734DOB: 12/2/200717 yrs
Star Scream is a beautiful med brown girl. Her fiber is very dense and she has great coverage. Her sire is a Royal Fawn grandson and his great density and coverage seem to come through even to a great grand child. Our herd is growing so fast that we have reduced the price of a few of our nice females. Starscream has such nice conformation and wonderful fleece. She is a very nice sturdy girl and should be a great breeder. She delivered a beautiful male med brown with white neck. His fiber is super fine and extremely bright. He has awesome coverage and conformation. Her 2013 cria has very consistent fiber. It is nicely fine and dense. Her first clip is being spun directly from the bag after shearing. We are lowering the price on some of our alpacas to have fewer and to focus on the light females we are breeding with. Our loss is your gain. She was bred last year to our Snowmass Nova son for a summer 2014 cria. We will not be re-breeding her unless she is purchased. And she would even come with one more additional breeding to any of our fully owned herdsires.

AOA# 32250671DOB: 7/15/201113 yrs
Black Ops has very nice, fine, crimpy, fiber that is super bright. It is very consistent throughout the blanket. He is a beautiful true black boy. He would be a great addition to your breeding program. Especially if you are looking for new genetics and a true black color. In the spring of 2012 his half sister that has nearly identical fiber took 1st out of 7 at the Michigan show and she was the youngest in the class. He made it to Lamafest where the Judge had no problem awarding him a first place. He was also a big hit at the Michigan fall show, taking first out of 7. There were not enough for color champion. He and his sister made quite a stir with there ultra fine, ultra bright fiber. At the spring Michigan Breeders show his sister took Color Champion. Black Ops again got Blue with not enough for color champ. The judge described his fiber features exactly as his sisters. His sire passed away after only producing these 2 offspring. We are counting on him to carry on these wonderful qualities 2017 I am accumulating too many boys so he is now available for a fraction of what he is worth. He is amazingly docile for a breeder. I have to separate my other herdsires but he lives peacefully with the yearling and Juvenile boys, including his son. 2018 His offspring have not been as dense as I would like so I am offering him up at fiber boy price. With breeding rights. Will negotiate price without breeding rights.

Description

Our first Jekyll cria has not disappointed. Her density and coverage are exactly what we were hoping for. Can't wait for more cria out of this herd sire. Milky way has been in the show ring this year in some very competitive classes against large farms. She took 3rd at the MIAF. She was declared the finest in the class but not quite as much regrowth was what put her down to third. Milky Way has stayed a little on the small side. Her Sire has been producing smaller than normal crias. We are going to start a miniature alpaca program and Millie is carrying our first, third generation mini. Look forward to seeing the result this June. 2017 Millie had no problem delivering her first cria last year. He is an adorable little brown male out of our true black herdsire Black-ops.
