Glacier Rock's Honey

HuacayaBred (Female)Medium Fawn
AOA# 30639454DOB: 7/22/200618 yrs
A big, beautiful alpaca, and her temperament is as sweet as her name. She looks a lot like her sire, Lancaster, who is making a name for himself as a sire of Blue Ribbon winners and Champions in all colors, even black! Honey's dam is the kind of female we wish we had more of: beautiful in the meadow, easy to handle, a reliable producer of crias - and a money maker! Honey is due any minute by our Black Matador son, Mr. Fudge. Stuck on a farm that bred mostly for white and light alpacas, he has not had much opportunity to show what he can do - but the three offspring we have seen, a yearling, a two-year old, and a cria, are impressive. We're proud of Honey, and proud to offer her to you. Honey just had her third girl cria 6/14/2013. A beautiful white girl from Pundit.

Description

A daughter of Patagonia's El Chono - and out of a Lancaster daughter. That's a pretty fancy pedigree. Butterkup has the looks to go with her pedigree, and a real pretty fleece, too. Butterkup is a big, stong female with a solid build, correct conformation, and an attractive head - and no wonder, since both Chono and Lancaster are known for the heads they put on their offspring. Her crimpy fiber exhbits good density, a fine, soft handle, and brightness. Her name reflects her light fawn, almost golden, color. Sire: Patagonia's El Chono is an outstanding example of the nationally known Patagonia breeding program, which is based entirely on alpacas the owners imported from Chile. A bay black, Chono carried the 'dark headed roan/grey' pattern from his sire, Neruda, and has sired a female with that color pattern! Chono was the 2005 AOBA NATIONAL SHOW RESERVE CHAMPION BLACK MALE! Dam: Honey is a beautiful daughter of Peruvian Lancaster, a multiple Champion now siring Champions. Butterkup comes from a female line with strong maternal traits: they get bred easily, deliver their crias easily, have good milk and have all the right instincts. This means a worry-free cria season!
