Sixth Day's Handy Beamer
Alpaca, Huacaya, Bred (Female) | White
AOA #30490345 | DOB: 12/27/2007 (17 yrs) (Due Date: 7/28/2016)
Sire: NWA Ltd. Handsome
30490345<--ari-->White<--color-->Full Peruvian
A son of Hemingway AND a daughter of Macarena, makes him a full brother to Marcie, Hektor and Predictor. Handsome had a 16.0 micron at eight months of age and holds this fine, dense, consistant coverage today from head to toe. He is now seven years old and his average fiber diameter was still just 21 microns. In the fall of 2003 Mike and Robin Tierney showed his fleece at the Empire Alpaca Extravaganza show and at 44 months of age he won First place, Judges choice, Best hand and Color Champion.
We feel he goes beyond the chip off the old block. If you are looking for fineness and quality of fiber and perfect conformation that will hold over time, we suggest his genetics in your breeding program. It works for us!
Handsome is now back at home at Maple Brook Farm. We are looking forward to many fine crias from him, eight are already on the ground. Call us if you have any questions about using him as a herdsire.<--description-->
Dam: Bravado's Sunbeam
30490345<--ari-->White<--color-->Another beautiful white female with a wonderful pedigree: Bravado daughter, Bueno granddaughter, Hemingway great-granddaughter - and a granddaughter of NWA Ltd Marcie. What else do you need in a pedigree?!
Fleece: The density and fineness typical of Bravado offspring. At 5, she has beautiful high-frequency crimp. Did you notice her Curve measurement?! Her fleece is similar to what Snowmass calls the 'Merino' style.
Sire: Maple Brook Bravado!
Dam: This dam line has been so successful for Sixth Day Farm. Her dam and granddam produce 'showy' crias with eye-catching, crimpy fleeces AND good textile qualities year after year after year.
Sunbeam is now deceased.<--description-->

Description
Like her namesake, this is a sporty little model with all the options: type, density, fineness, brightness, and just beautiful crimp and organization to her fleece. (She's got 'four on the floor' and 'leather upholstery' too!)
Beamer is a fine example of the focus of the Sixth Day breeding program: fine, uniform fiber, with excellent density and lovely crimp! It comes as no surprise then that she has the best EPDs of all the females at Sixth Day Farm.
She had her first cria in June 2011. A fabulous young female my Maple Brook Bravado named...... BMW (what else?) Since then she has had two more females, Beacon and Queen Bea.
She is in the top 1% of EPDs in THREE traits. No wonder she has produced such fabulous offspring.
Beamer is located at Sixth Day Farm East in Hilton, NY.
