AOA# 840414DOB: 6/29/200222 yrs
HERD DISPERSAL UPDATE: Noche is an older experienced male who knows what he wants in life. He is very food motivated. He can be grumpy at times, but is very good with people. He also is very guard dog friendly. He is best pals with one of ours. We use Noche as our spit tester. He does well after being spit at because he can be bought off with food afterward! He is a great candidate to be trained because of his steady desire to eat. So, Noche can function as help on the farm and can be a loyal loving pet! Noche is a quality Bay Black. He is not True Black, however, and as a result his genetics are now less useful to us as we have moved toward a grey and black breeding program. We have been using Noche on a limited basis, and he deserves more work as a sire—so we are offering Noche for sale. Don't miss your chance to acquire this Champion male! Noche is an exceptional stud male with fantastic coverage all the way down to his toes and a correspondingly perfect conformation. He is dense, but his character and softness now are more typical of an alpaca his age. Noche is a large male with presence and a friendly personality. As a young male, Noche achieved quite a show record. Noche is a full Peruvian male out of two imports, with his sire being 5Peruvian Quicksiver. His lines are rare, and he would addition to any farm herd genetics. Noche has 28+ offspring on the ground, and he has proven that he throws dark color. Two of his offspring are fawn, but all of the rest are black, brown, or grey! He excels at improving conformation, bone, and size in his progeny. He has consistently passed his ribbon-winning characteristics on to his cria.

Dam: Rosalind Franklin

Loveable 1/2 Accoyo Rose Grey!

Rosalind Franklin

HuacayaOpen (Female)Medium Rose Grey
AOA# 31126199DOB: 10/5/200816 yrs
Rosie is a cute girl with a mischievous but extremely friendly personality. Much like her mother, she loves to be around people and has been the top PR animal on our farm when she is open! Rosie has been nicknamed “Stonewall” due to her desire to stand between you and the herd when you are taking photos. She is VERY photogenic. Rosie is a classic rose grey out of a solid bay black dam and a fawn sire with vicuna shading. She has nice square conformation and is a compact adult like her mother. Also like her mother, Rosie is an easy birther and a great mom with lots of milk for her crias. Rosie’s fleece is very soft and dense. She continues to be a reliable and consistent producer for us. Rosie is half Accoyo by lineage. Her paternal grandsire is the legendary Pperuvian Timoteo, while her maternal grandsire is the renowned Pperuvian Felix. From Estancia Accoyo of Peru, Timoteo and Felix were two of the elite group of males imported in 1994 that included Caligula, Victor, Vengador, Leon, Terror, Camilio, and Pluro. A half Accoyo classic rose grey is not an easy thing to find. This is a great opportunity to add these genetics to your herd. Rosie is named after Rosalind Franklin, who was the first scientist to recognize the helical shape of DNA molecules through her X-ray diffraction studies. Her work was passed on to James Watson and Francis Crick, who along with Maurice Wilkins, a coworker of Dr. Franklin, shared the Nobel Prize in Physiology and Medicine for reporting the discovery of the DNA double helix. Dr. Franklin's work was built into Watson and Crick's detailed description of DNA, but she has never received official credit for her contribution to the discovery, in large part because of her early passing at age 37 from cancer. Rosie gave birth in fall 2011 to a cute dark brown little girl named Ruthie out of our champion male SA Peruvian Noche Negro. She gave birth in fall 2012 to a beautifully fleeced light fawn cutie named Tatiana out of our multi-ribbon winning Mesquite's Tropical Storm. In August 2013, Rosie made it three in a row--another beautiful baby girl named CeCe, a bay black out of our own Conan's Phenomenon. Rosie’s crias are for sale under their own listings.

Description

HERD DISPERSAL UPDATE: Ruthie has a lot to offer. She hangs out in the back of the herd and tries to blend in. But she is truly an exceptional dam that stands out! Her fleece is consistent, dense and soft. She possesses nice handle as well. Ruthie is a great mom, which is a characteristic of her line. She is also an easy breeder and birther. With an impressive ribbon at a tough show, she is nicely decorated. At first glance, Ruthie may be underrated to some, but in reality she is a solid production dam that could be very useful to an alpaca breeding program. Ruthie is a lovely ribbon-winning dark brown girl! She has a friendly disposition, which is similar to her mother Rosie and her grandmother Friday. However, she does not desire to be the center of attention. This friendly and curious personality is an inherited trait, but only manifests itself when she is open! Her mother and grandmother are also both great mothers, which is another heritable trait! Ruthie is a beautiful dark brown with black shading on her feet, ears, and nose. She has a cute and inquisitive look about her! Her fleece is extremely dense and soft, and is bright with a great handle. Ruthie has a great lineage that includes PPeruvian Timoteo, Pperuvian Felix, Rosario, and 5Peruvian Quicksilver. Ruthie gave birth in June 2014 to her first cria--a gorgeous light light fawn boy named "Tyson" out of Mesquite's Tropical Storm. She followed that up with in fall 2015 with a true black boy named "Stay Positive" out of the late Woodland Meadows Greyson. Ruthie has proven to be a great mom! With Ruthie’s genetics and mothering skills, she would be a valuable asset to any herd. Ruthie is named for Ruth Fulton Benedict, an American social scientist who helped lay the foundation of modern anthropology. Building on the work of Franz Boas in exploring the relationship of individuals to their cultures, her fieldwork among Native Americans, and her studies of contemporary European and Asian cultures, led her to emphasize concepts of cultural configuration, national character, and the relationship between individual personality and culture. Her highly influential books, including Patterns of Culture (1934) and The Chrysanthemum and the Sword: Patterns of Japanese Culture (1946), popularized the anthropological concept of culture, even as they attacked racism and ethnocentrism.
