El Nino's Elberto is a pre-potent elite alpaca who is the complete package - outstanding confirmation, presence, great genetics and dense fiber. He maintained a stunning histogram though his 5th shearing and still at his old age is in the Top 6 out of 9 EPDs and even as a dark fawn! His grandsires are PPeruvian Caligula and PCA Peruvian Microsoft with his great-grand sire being PPeruvian Camilio. His Sire, PCA El Nino, had a remarkable Secondary/ Primary fiber ratio of 12.5 and a Follicular Density of 89.2 follicles per square millimeter of skin. We believe that Elberto is one the the highest quality offspring of El Nino. He has won a ribbon in every show that he has entered! Elberto has sired outstanding crias beginning in the summer of 07. Since then he has put his stamp on the majority of his offspring who have won numerous ribbons at the largest AOBA shows and top EPDs. We have one working stud and 5 foundation females in our herd that are his offsping. A 2009 fleece sort revealed 88 oz of WL 2 & 3 in his blanket and 41 oz of WL 1 & 2 in his neck ( nice neck density). His brightness is 9 out of 10 from cut end to tip, 9 out of 10 for density, 9 out of 10 for consistent uniformity of crimp from cut end to tip, medium amplitude and frequency crimp of 5-7 per inch. Excellent fleece weights include 42 oz on lower legs. Staple length 3.5 to 4.0 inches. Sorter commented "beautiful secondary/primary fiber alignment and nice fleece weight." Whether you are interested in purchasing high quality alpacas for breeding, show, fiber or selecting a herd sire to breed to, you should use Expected Progeny Differences (EPDs) as your most important selection tool in addition to evaluating phenotype. You can also increase the probability of creating ideal offspring with up to 95% accuracy. Contact us to learn more about using EPDs. We have been using them to improve our herd since 2008.

Description

Make us an offer that we can't refuse on one or more alpacas during our Retirement Herd Dispersal Sale! Only $500 down on Emelio and you can start breeding some great genetics into your herd. Then pay $500 per breeding or $2500 per year for two years, whichever is more until he is paid off. You will need to fully insure him for his outstanding balance each year. Emelio is the complete light fawn package of great conformity, excellent fleece and great temperment. At his first halter show the judge said that his fleece was the finest and best handle he had seen in the ring from black thru the fawns! He has one small brown spot on his neck. His pedegree runs deep with PCA Accoyo El Nino as grandsire, Pperuvian Caligula & PCA Peruvian Microsoft as great-grandsires and Pperuvian Camilio as great-great grandsire on his father's side. On his mother's side he has CAA Duncan as grandsire and Pperuvian Vengador as great grandsire. His 2014 fiber sort showed Grade 2-3 Secondaries and Grade 3-4 Primaries, 8 out of 10 on brightness, 4 out of 5 for density, 7 out of 8 for uniformity of micron with moderate amplitude, medium 6-7 crimps per inch, 4 out of 5 for handle and 8 out of 10 for lack of guard hair. He had 54.5 oz. of WL 2-3 on his blanket and 47.0 oz. WL 2-3 of sorted fiber on his neck. Sorter commented that his fleece had a lovely hand and uniform S/P. EPD Results - 2017 As of his 9th shearing, Emelio is in the top 5% in lack of medulation. He is in the top 11% for uniformity of fiber, spin fineness and fineness, fibers over 30M and the top 22% in curvature and still in the to 46% for FW. If you need to make improvements in any of these characteristics in your females, Emelio would be an excellent choice for a colored breeding herd sire purchase especially due to his genetics, conformation and temperament.
