Quechua Radiance is quite a "head turner", or at least the judges seem to think so! His luminous fleece demonstrates extreme locking to the skin, and it drips with luster. His heritage is 3/4 Accoyo. Radiance has SOLID BONE structure and a perfect conformation. His dam, Q'orianka was legendary on the show circuit and she has been one of our best producers. Both she and his Accoyo sire bring density to Radiance, and we are thrilled to have their handsome son. Even at 4 years of age, on his 5th fleece, he glows in the barn more than any other male, and he has one of the best fleeces of any of our suris. Radiance has a compact, correct, sturdy conformation with BONE!! We have "deployed him" on larger girls, to bring down the cria size and it certainly worked with his first cria, Silken Radiance (his dam is very big!). Radiance has a trouble-free demeanor--not looking for trouble, but willing to stand up for himself. He has a rather "serious" personality, but is easy to handle and loves to be our example of beautiful luster and locking for visitors. When we prepared his fleece for competition--it truly took me about 10 minutes to adjust to the luster and "glare" of his fleece on our shady patio! Radiance's 2012 EPDs are excellent: AFD -0.9, %F>30:-3.4 (more below). and backing that up, his first cria has taken Color Champion at the 2014 International Alpaca Odyssey! Take a look at his 2017 EPDs==How do you get top 25% AFD AND Top 25% Fleece Weight from a relatively compact male? THIS GUY IS LOADED WITH FLEECE!! Top 25% AFD, % Medullation, FW. Top 10% SDAFD Top 15% MSL. ***Radiance sells with 1 breeding reserved for our use--we don't want to lose track of this boy.... ***Auction Breeding price is for "drive-by" breeding only. Quechua Radiance is at our North San Francisco Bay farm, Alpacas of Marin. I took a look at him today (11/14/17) and he STILL looks fabulous! Fantastic luster and locking! (He likes to be praised...)

Great genetics/EPDs! Outstanding Crias!

WTR WINTER SILK

SuriOpen (Female)White
AOA# 31183536DOB: 6/23/200816 yrs
Silk is aptly named--her fine, lustrous locks are soft and silky. Get a look at her 2011 histogram--at 3 years of age, her AFD is still 21.4 microns! She comes by this honestly--her sire is the famous Snowmass Silken Gold. Her dam is beige and with her fawn sire, Silk should cover color as well! Winter Silk is a tall girl with good bone and a very pleasing personality. She loves to run up and plant kisses on visitors. Silk also has excellent fleece statistics--see her 2015 AND 2017 EPD values, which are terrific across the board! Silk's first cria, Silken Radiance (by our herdsire, Quechua Radiance), has luminous, ropey locks with great density. And boy, does he have a sturdy frame! The judges absolutely loved him at the International Alpaca Odyssey, giving him the Color Championship in halter and the blue ribbon in "walking fleece", praising his fabulous luster. Now that Silk is up at Alpacas of Marin in the north San Francisco Bay area, we may re-breed her to Quechua Radiance OR we may take advantage of her color genetics to see what she comes up with, bred to MAPACA black champion, AABC Marauder! Buy her now and it's your choice of breeding!

Description

Silken Radiance was a bit of a "sleeper"--we knew he had great density and luster, with very well-defined ropey locks, but somehow the pieces didn't come together until he became a yearling. But WHAT A DEBUT HE HAS HAD!! The judges (both Wini LeBreq and Babs Manion are known for their expertise in FIBER judging as well as comformation) just LOVED him at the International Alpaca Odyssey, awarding him first place in Halter and in Fleece, and the Color Championship in Halter! They were particularly excited about his fineness and LUSTER, and no wonder--this is the calling card of his sire, our Quechua Radiance. On the other hand, his dam is a daughter of the fabulous Snowmass Silken Gold, who is also fabled for his fineness and luster! And there aren't a lot of suris with that famous name... But it's not only his gorgeous fleece that makes him such a winner--just get a gander at his BONE!! Silken Radiance has a large, well-balanced frame, and he is a male who will do well as a breeding macho. We have WAY too many outstanding junior herdsires who need new, good homes and really deserve to spread their genetic potential. So, we are listing Silken Radiance as well as several other males, at ridiculously low prices. Once we have sold 2, the prices will go up on the others. So get in while you can! Silken Radiance has moved to "new digs" at our ranch in coastal Marin County.
