The look of liquid mercury and the excitement of a full Peruvian grey suri awaits your breeding program with Mercury Rising. He is the son of Angelinn, a beautifully locked 6Peruvian Rufino daughter and Reserve Champion at the 2002 MaPaca Jubilee, the largest alpaca show in North America. His sire is 5Peruvian Silver King, a medium silver grey full Peruvian stud out of a full Peruvian rose Grey dam, who has produced several greys. Mercury's high luster grey color, defined lock structure, and superb conformation of his typey body style makes him one to watch in the show ring and in the breeding pen. This showy male has outstanding coverage from his topknot to his toes and exhibits beautiful locks - very unusual for a grey, promising to make him the top grey herd sire in the country. Mercury won Reserve Color Champion at the 2005 AOBA National Conference Fleece Show, winning over many of the top grey and multi males in the country. His regrowth on his fleece is beautiful, with defined locks and beautiful luster. His silver grey color (almost blue) is breathtaking! Mercury has produced champions, too! Check out WRSR Mercury Rising's Marauder, a medium rose grey now owned by Rainbow Mountain Alpacas and Prairie Lake Alpacas. Marauder was awarded Reserve Champion - Grey Male Suris, at the 2009 MAPACA Jubilee Show. Mercury's Wildside has taken the blue at the 2009 AOBA Nationals, as well as the 2009 MABA Alpaca Celebration. Book your breedings now! Mercury is available for mobile breedings and resident breedings here at the farm. Dam: OLC Peruvian Biscotti - Great Production Dam

Great disposition, easy to handle

OLC Peruvian Biscotti - Great Production Dam

SuriOpen (Female)Dark Fawn
AOA# 30026258DOB: 10/15/200519 yrs
We purchased Biscotti from Alan's mom, OLC Farms, because she is a beautiful daughter of our top herd sire, Jimbobway. Both her sire and dam are 1/2 Accoyo bloodlines. Triscuit is a Macgyver daughter, and Jimbobway's sire is Accoyo Joselo from Alpacas of America. Biscotti was never shown only because her owner was not interested in showing her alpacas. Biscotti has great conformation and is a well-proportioned large female weighing about 170 lbs. when open. She is an easy keeper with a wonderful disposition. Her fleece has very nice luster, good lock definition, and has good character and locking even after being shorn 4 times. Biscotti has had 2 female crias: Kalahari (Solid Dark Fawn) out of Mercury Rising (Med. Silver Grey) and Coalista (Med. Brown) out of Allegheny Peruvian King Coal (True Black). Her crias have good coverage and lock architecture with luster. Kalahari is our special PR alpaca and lets kids climb all over her at the Farmer's Markets while she is cushed. Kilroy, her 2021 male cria, is also very friendly and easy to handle. Biscotti was bred to our black champion herd sire, WRSR Mannix by Avanti, for a 2021 cria. She delivered a dark maroon boy, Kilroy, with black points on June 5th, who was up and running very quickly. Biscotti is currently open and retired from the breeding program. Need terms? We are flexible - call to tell us what you can do, and let's come up with a plan! Call Patti at 443-740-4240 for a farm visit, more information, or different financing options to meet your needs.

Description

When you come to visit our farm, Kalahari will be the first run up to you for attention. She just can't wait to see new people. She is calm, gentle, and affectionate, and we don't have to worry about her kicking or spitting around kids and adults. Most times she will just kush and let people pet her. She is the favorite of my husband, and she searches him out whenever he is in the area. While Kalahari is friendly to everyone, she seems to have a special bond with Alan. She is truly unique and could easily qualify for a "Service Animal" certification. Kalahari and her mom, Biscotti, still have that special bond, too. They are together in the fields, and still lay and sleep side-by-side routinely. It was truly unique situation when Kalahari's sister, Coalista, was born and became septic on day 2 of her life. Coalista spiked a high fever and then had seizures, and she was never "normal" after that time. Coalista became a "special needs" alpaca, as she had poor eyesight (she actually went blind, then recovered some of her sight), and she never developed the sense of "herd" or "personal space" so important in the alpaca world. Kalahari would look out for her, and at night you would see Biscotti and her 2 daughters all laying side by side in the paddock or in the barn. Biscotti and Kalahari would go look for Coalista and lay next to her. Many times, Coalista was unaware of the movement of the rest of her group, and she would be oblivious to the fact that the rest of her group (about 20 females) had left her to come up to the barn. Kalahari would run up to us, then back to Coalista, then back to us, until we went to get Coalista and bring her up. Kalahari and Biscotti would not come up from the pasture without her, and would stay with her. It was amazing to see - kinda like watching the old time "Lassie" shows when Lassie the dog would go find people to alert them of some situation. Kalahari has been a special part of our life, and she continues to "give back" to us and visitors. Kalahari has never been bred, as she has her special place in life with her unique personality. Come visit the farm, and we will introduce you to Kalahari, the truly amazing alpaca ambassador and friend.
