This is about as good as you can get in a white Huacaya. Phyllis is just an outstanding female. A FULL PERUVIAN, 1/2 ACCOYO, Phyllis is a result of the desired Accoyo/Cconchatanca cross. Accoyo Leon from the Accoyo herd of Don Julio Barreda is her sire and PPeruvian Teresa from the Cconchatanca region of Peru is her dam. Phyllis was shown once, winning a blue ribbon in the yearling white female division at the Estes Park Wool Market. Phyllis's fleece exhibits what every huacaya breeder seeks to produce: superior brightness, excellent crimp frequency and amplitude, along with well defined lock structure and good density. They don't get better than this! Just look below at her histograms! These would be a great histogram on younger alpacas, and these are from Phyllis's SIXTH, SEVENTH, EIGHTH and NINTH shearings. WOW! Phyllis has had 5 crias. Mezcal's Willow, her first cria is a gorgeous light fawn female now owned by Fine Alpacas in Ohio. Willow was a blue ribbon winner her first time out. Phyllis may have duplicated another Willow from the same sire, Colorado Mezcal. Taffeta looks a lot like Willow (see Taffeta's AN listing as an Avalon Farm foundation female). Phyllis gave birth to Avalon's Peruvian Impresario ("Rio") in November of 2004. This handsome young fellow was sired by Montezuma, a Kilimanjaro son and Accoyo Caligula grandson. These two beautiful alpacas, with incredibly dense and fine fleeces (Montezuma's fourth shearing histogram rivals Phyllis's: AFD=18.3 SD= 3.6 CV=19.7 CF=99.7), have produced an outstanding son! Rio has not disappointed! He is developing into a stunning young male with great presence. Rio is now co-owned with Crystal Lake Alpacas and will continue at Avalon Farm on our herdsire row. In 2005 she gave birth to a handsome son sired by Peruvian Lancaster, Avalon's Peruvian Phoenix. In 2006, Avalon's Peruvian Solar Express was born, a handsome 3/4 Accoyo fawn son of Accoyo Express.

Description

Taffeta...our secret weapon! We expect this female to be a key factor to the next step forward in our breeding program! The first thing you notice about Taffeta is her excellent conformation, balance, and lovely head. She's a real eye catcher. But once you put your hands on her fiber, it's clear she's more than just another pretty face! This lovely fawn female has fiber to "die for". Fiber fineness, great staple length, tactile, high frequency crimp...and density, too! What more could we ask? Color? She has that, too. A soft, honey colored fawn that drawns you to it. We knew this match with Crimson would bring together the bloodlines of some wonderful and well known Accoyo, Alianza, and Conchatonca alpacas, including Drambuie, Leon,Andean Gold, and Andean Bronze, so we had high hopes for the outcome. Wow! We were not disappointed! Tiffany, a lovely, fawn female cria, was born on August 3rd. And, it didn't take long for a saavy new breeder to recognize her potential. For 2008 we have the opportunity to breed Tiffany to a multiple Color Champion son of the well known CPeruvian Winchester. Clint, also known as HHF Fistfull of Dollars, should be an outstanding match for our Tiffany. Keep an eye out for Taffeta's future crias, as we expect them to sell fast just as Tiffany did. We plan to have Taffeta in our foundation female herd for years to come.
