HuacayaBred (Female)White
AOA# 823709DOB: 10/6/200024 yrs
An award-winning full Peruvian, and the only white offspring of 5Peruvian Chinchero, a true black herdsire imported from the Maychapampa herd in Peru, Jewel is no ordinary white alpaca! Her dam, Marcela, produced the famous grey herdsire Silver Dollar, and the well respected fawn herdsire, Show Me the Money. Jewel's pedigree literally sparkles with quality and color. She has full coverage, great density and, according to show judge Mary Reed, "her handle is like butter it's so soft". A fine foundation female with heavy bone, excellent conformation, and a sweet disposition, Jewel recently produced a fawn daughter out of Ppperuvian Accoyo Yupanqui, the number one pick of the 1996 importation, who has produced multiple ribbon winners in a whole rainbow of colors. Bronwen is very unusual, with dark eyes and toenails, a white face, fawn blanket and fawn markings on her nose, head and ears. The skin on the back of her neck is black, so this little half accoyo girl is simply full of color! Jewel is now bred with our award-winning maroon herdsire, Romeo, in the hope of producing a colored cria with superior fiber. Romeo currently has two offspring on the ground - one maroon and one true black! Her 2004 cria is not included in this price, but she will be bred with Accoyo Yupanqui or one of our award-winning herdsires.

PC Peruvian Knightrider

HuacayaHerdsire (Male)True Black
AOA# 824488DOB: 3/18/200124 yrs
We are proud to include the Champion, 2X AOBA National ribbon-winning, full Peruvian, true black PC Peruvian Knightrider on our list of quality, colored herdsires. The son of two true black Peruvian imports, 5Peruvian Black Ice and 6Peruvian Anastasia, Knightrider offers rare black West Coast genetics in a magnificent package! Knightrider has excellent conformation and beautiful dense, crimpy fiber with great staple length and handle, particularly for a mature black breeding male. Knightrider will reside at Thistledown for breedings in Virginia from approximately November 15 - May 15 each year, spending the remainder of his time with his coowner, Susquehanna Farms in Maryland. Knightrider is the perfect choice for those breeders looking to diversify their black genetics, as his sire, 5Peruvian Black Ice, has few offspring on the East Coast. Knightrider is also one of only a handful of solid true black, full Peruvian "double-black" males in the country, with two true black parents. Proven to produce quality color, including black out of beige and medium fawn, maroon out of grey, black out of fawn/white pinto, plus dark brown out of white.

Description

Bronwen is a full Peruvian, half accoyo female, with dark eyes and toenails, and dark markings around her nose, head and ears. Her award-winning dam, Jewel, is the only white offspring of 5Peruvian Chinchero, a true black herdsire imported from the Maychapampa herd in Peru. Jewel's dam, Marcela, produced the famous grey herdsire Silver Dollar, and the nationally respected fawn herdsire, Show Me the Money. Bronwen's sire, Accoyo Yupanqui, needs no introduction - he was the number one male pick of the 1995 Five Star Peruvian importation who has sired multiple ribbon winners in a whole rainbow of colors. A full accoyo, with bright fleece, deep amplitude crimp and incredible fineness, he was mentioned by Don Julio Barreda as one of the top herdsires in the U.S. At 5 years of age, Yupanqui had a shearing weight of 11lbs of 20.8 micron fiber with a CV of 20.1, and at 11 years of age, Yupanqui's fiber analysis was 24.0; 4.6; 18.9 and 7.4 > 30 microns, with wonderful crimp and a handle comparable to many yearlings. Although never shown himself, his offspring have won numerous awards. Now deceased, his bloodline is not widely available. Bronwen has proven her ability to produce color and excellent fiber quality with the birth of her first two crias - both black, both female. The first was sired by our Champion "double black" herdsire, Peruvian Knightrider, the second by our full Chilean silver grey Champion, Ben MacDhui, and she is currently rebred with Knightrider for her full Peruvian cria in 2009.
