*Sale Pending* If you are interested in Blanche Anne, let us know right away! If the sale falls through, we will contact you - or help you find another black alpaca in your price range that will fit your needs. Blanche Anne has a lot to offer anyone breeding for TRUE BLACK with high quality fiber. Her fleece is that shade of true black that has highlights that are almost 'blue'. Her fleece is soft-handling, free of guard hair, and super bright. Blanche Anne has produced true black crias - but can also produce GREY. She is a good looking alpaca, with solid bone and the correct conformation that is so important in a breeding female. Blanche Anne also has a good disposition, and is an excellent mother. Pedigree: Her 100% Chilean pedigree reads like a 'who's who': Silver Medal Codi, *The Silversmith, and Bravo Bravo were among the best known alpacas in America. *Former owner, Eric Hoffman: "The Silversmith was named by us and here for about ten years. At the time he was probably the best known silver stud in the United States. The Silversmith arrived from northern Chile (this was before animals were allowed from Peru and Bolivia) in the second large importation of alpacas from South America in l988. He was an impressive looking animal. We use photos of him in our advertisements. He was used in the first ever judging clinic (which was held here) as a example of a structurally sound alpaca. Murray Fowler DVM (Professor Emeritus UCD) picked him out of the herd to show attendees. He was structurally flawless..." *Eric Hoffman is the author of The Complete Alpaca Book, and an import screener. Alpaca registries and breeders around the world have hired him to evaluate their alpacas and advise them on their breeding programs.

What the experts say: - Mike Safely: AOBA Senior Judge, author, & internationally known alpaca expert. When Bolero was shown for the first time ever at the NAAS in 2008, Safely said, “You don't see males this age in the showring, and you don't see males this age with fleece like this!" Praising his fineness, crimp, and DENSITY, over a class of exceptional males from 3-7 years of age - including Champions - Safely awarded Bolero the Blue at 12! - Carrie Hull, Certified Sorter/fiber grader, graded Bolero's 13th fleece on shearing day at Sixth Day Farm May 12, 2009: Grade 2 (Baby') secondaries AND primaries (!) with high scores for crimp, density, brightness, and handle. After more than a decade of managing & showing for a major farm, Carrie became a sorter. She grades thousands of fleeces each year, examining every handful. "Primaries nearly identical to the secondaries in micron and crimp..." - Jim Cocking, Low Stress Alpaca Transport & Kentucky Criations, a nationally respected breeder and alpaca transporter. When he saw Bolero in his 12th fleece on May 11th, 2008, he said, "I've hauled some of the best older males in the business all over the country, and none of them had a fleece anywhere near as nice as this!" - Carol Karsten, Hidden Hill Farm, (breeder of 2009 White Male Futurity Champion ’Dually’), asked when she saw Bolero’s 11th fleece, “What cria is this from?” She refers to Bolero as ‘unique’, and booked four females to him. Offspring: Among the HANDFUL that have been shown: - Status Symbol SSRMT: 6X Champion. - Timbuck2: 3X Reserve Champion, each time behind his brother! - Rhonda: winning blue ribbons at fleece shows at 5 years of age, including the 2008 AOBA Nat'l Fleece Show! - Inti B My Girl: 6X Champion or Reserve,

Young, BLACK & Beautiful

Description

An pretty young BLACK female from a BLACK CHAMPION sire! In fact, she looks a lot like her Champion sire! This alpaca is from a cross of a true Black male with a true Black female. Annie is black - no fading, no reddish tips, and zero white markings, just BLACK. Her conformation is correct. Annie has a sweet temperament, too. *We're in the process of getting photos, fiber tests, etc and getting them up on this site. Contact us about any alpaca that interests you, and we will get that info to you asap.* Fiber: Her fiber is fine, with the shine and feel of black silk. Histogram available on request. Pedigree: From two true black parents, you can expect Annie to be a reliable producer of that sought-after color. Or grey if bred to grey! (Annie's registration is pending. Until her certificate arrives, we have posted her sire's pedigree for reference.) Sire - Maple Brook Black Magic is a handsome male with a stocky build and a fleece that helped him earn two Championships - including the MAPACA Jubilee! His sire is the well-known Brittany's Desparado, sire of many award winning offspring. Black Magic's dam is a Champion True Black daughter of Danko (grey), who was out of a Sinopsis Nocturna (black) daughter. Danka was bred by Patagonia, a top breeder of show-winning colored alpacas from Chilean lines. Danko was awarded the coveted Futurity Herdsire of the Year title. He and Sinopsis Nocturna have both sired numerous Champions. Dam - Blanche Anne's pedigree is mostly black and silver grey, with just a smattering of other colors. See her listing for more info and photos. If you are breeding for black, you owe it to yourself to check out Annie! We are downsizing toward retirement from the alpaca business... and are in the process of figuring out the new prices, so feel free to make an offer.
