Congratulations to Derwydd Alpacas for honoring Zeppelin with a place on their esteemed herd sire row. Zeppelin is no longer available for outside breedings at Delphi Alpacas. **Zeppelin is the 2013 AOBA National Black Male Fleece COLOR CHAMPION** This with his 4th fleece - the judges do enjoy rewarding older fleeces that retain superb qualities. Congratulations to Snowmass Alpacas on their purchased of one black Zeppelin daughter, plus 3 of our black females bred to Zeppelin; as well as another female bred to him from a client's farm. We'll be watching for his genetics under the Snowmass name. Zeppelin's first baby to ever show, fawn Zeppelin's Rainsong, purchased by The Alpaca Group, won a color championship at her first show! We are honored that Zeppelin's genetics have also been chosen by Pacific Crest Alpacas / Accoyo America. Histogram's: 5-2-09: AFD 15.7 / SD 2.8 / CV 18.0 / 0.2 % >30 6-9-10: AFD 16.9 / SD 2.9 / CV 16.9 / 0.4% >30 5-9-11: AFD 17.7 / SD 3.3 / CV 18.4 / 0.8 % >30 5-11-12: AFD 19.8 / SD 3.9 / CV 19.7 / 2.1% >30 Shearing Weight 2009: 6 pounds total = 7.2 pounds annualized. 2010: 9.5 pounds total = 8.75 pounds annualized 2011 = 10.1 pounds annualized 2012 = 10.8 pounds annualized Zeppelin is throwing lots of black. From black based dams his early production totals were: From 8 TB dams he has thrown 3 TB, 1 DSG, 3 BB, and 1 DF cria. From 2 BB dams he threw 1 BB and 1 LF cria. From 4 Silver greys (black base) he threw 3 TB and 1 MB. But regardless of color - with Zeppelin it's ALL about the fleece quality - for example look at his daughter Tessla's fleece at lower right - she sold for $18,000 at auction, after being awarded CC, Best Brightness and Best Hand at the Alpacamania Fleece Show. Tessla's yearling histogram: AFD 12.7, SD 2.0, CV 15.6, %>30 0.0. (!!) My pick of our entire litter last year was his daughter Deltana - a fawn with the kind of fleece we dream of. Congratulations to Bari Padgett on her purchase of Deltana! Zeppelin's dad, Taos, a stunning Legacy son, had a 22.9 AFD at 7 yrs. Zeppelin's mom tested at 21.3 AFD at 7 years as well. Zeppelin also offers correct conformation, impressive presence, size, coverage, and substance of bone. His crimp, luster and dense lock structure are stunning - staple length is extreme. Zeppelin is full Peruvian and 3/8 Accoyo. We thank David and Julie Wroblewski for allowing us to add Zeppelin to Delphi Alpacas' herd sires.

I know, I know - we do Color! But we couldn't help ourselves. Two reasons - 1) Check out this fleece - - - And it isn't just pretty, She has great fineness, And she has the fleece weight too. 2) Check out her pedigree - Her daddy is Black Pinot Noir - and mom, a Camillio daughter, is loaded with color too. How often do the winners of the best white classes have black daddies? I've seen it a time or two - and as we improve our colors it happens more and more frequently. This lady offers a level of fleece quality that I am extremely excited about combining with the likes of Zeppelin - for starters. ;^) Update - she just delivered a Gorgeous beige Zeppelin son - You will see him in the winner's circle! He is phenomenal - I can't keep my hands off of him. She will be bred back to Zeppelin for her 2013 cria - you can't have too many of these! Awards Received Futurity 2010-3rd Place (class of 11), Halter CABA Classic 2010-FIRST Place, Halter (class of 13) National Fleece Show - 5th Place (class of 8) 20 out of 20 points for fineness and handle. 9 out of 10 for character and brightness, 4.5 out of 5 for density. Congratulations to his new owner, Bari Padgett of Paragon Alpacas! Both his mom and his dad are National Banner Winners - each of them in both Halter and Fleece! How many alpacas can say that? Alpenglow Alpacas and Delphi Alpacas went in search of a silver male - that would complement our herds' fineness, brightness, and uniformity - that would maximize character and fleece weight - that would exhibit the typey style that the judges look for. Our goals were to improve fiber production in every capacity, while at the same time producing top show alpacas. Lofty goals - but we found him in Gray Enough. I had the joy (and challenge) of color checking him for show, when I first met this beautiful boy. GE is pale silver gray - that can best be appreciated against a white background. He has a distinct silver cap and silver legs as well. His first crias include a platinum gray female, just a tad darker than GE himself, from a fawn dam. And now his first crias have arrived at Delphi and we are over the moon with their quality. GE's pedigree cannot be topped. His sire is Annual's Bea-2 Bomber - Bomber is well known as the .38 Special son with his own wall of awards - now sire to an ever growing list of his own Champion crias. Now imagine matching Bomber up with an equally impressive dam! They did. GE's mom is 16 time Champion Orlando's Carly Cloud - full sister to Ringo Cloud. Carly's 16 Championships include: Color Champion AOA Nationals Fleece 2015 Color Champion AOA Nationals Fleece 2014 Color Champion AOBA Nationals Fleece 2012 Color Champion AOBA Nationals Halter 2012 Color Champion MAPACA Halter 2012 Reserve Champion The Futurity 2012 (Halter). Description

One of our Very Best producers - "Pelli's" kids are amazing. She's our top Zeppelin daughter. Look at her fleece - she's her daddy's girl - though following in mommy's footsteps wouldn't be a bad thing either. Her mom Abilene is a white, rockstar show girl - having beaten the best of the best in that most competitive of colors; which is especially impressive when considering that she has a black dad and a dark fawn mom. Her mother and father are of very rare quality; and Zepeline didn't miss out on any of the good stuff. Zepeline's histogram results from 2014: AFD 15.4; SD 3.3; CV 21.4 2016 shearing: AFD 18.9; SD 4.2; CV 22.5; >30 = 2.0% And at 4 years old (May 25th, 2017): AFD 19.83; SD 4.42; CV 22.28; >30 = 2.9 % Zepeline is showing her daddy's modern grey tendencies. She's officially a DRG, per the AOA 2017 National fleece show. Entered as an Indefinite Dark, they switched her to the Dark Rose Grey class. Awarded 3rd place - she was given 19 out of 20 points for fineness and handle, and extremely nice scores overall. I'm guessing it must have been a very nice class indeed! Update: Yup - the two that placed above her were a nine time champion, and a three time Champion (and one of those 3 banners was from the Futurity). Her first Ike son "'Zackly" is exactly wonderful. Straight, Strong, Super Soft, Bright and Crimpy - and he's super typey like his daddy. Now a 2 time Banner winner (in the LF/Beige category) - from modern and classic gray genetics - he's proof it can be done. Her next cria, Mythic is the same quality - in LSG. bred for a 3peat - she gave us a classic DRG baby girl. Then in the middle of our Labor Day Blizzard - her 4th Ike cria was born - a little boy Mini-me - he has his mom's color, fleece, and he's cute cute cute! Now bred to GE - we have enormous expectations for her next cria. :^) Stay tuned! Zepeline is now on maternity leave - please inquire as to her availability in September (2021).
