Lancaster took first place in the GET OF SIRE at the very big Ohio AlpacaFest Fall 2007 show over some stiff competition (The Aga Khan, Accoyo Express and more)! Lancaster offspring are consistant and consistanly high quality. He puts his stamp on his offspring for sure.
Not only is Lancaster's fleece consistent but so were his show winnings. He won his 14th blue ribbon at MAPACA '05. And he won the coveted Fawn Male Color Championship at MAPACA '04. Lancaster has been called, by more than one judge: "the total package". Mr. Safley said what's more impressive is that even though Lancaster was over 2 years old and the second oldest out of the sixteen first place males vying for Championship, he was the finest of them all-even the 7 month old standing reserve behind him.
He exhibits all that we desire in a male and so much more. He has a magnetic presence with a charming, inquisitive personality and is an absolute gentleman. His well-balanced, heavily boned frame is entirely covered with dense, carpet-like fleece.
Lancaster is passing on his quality fleece and strong conformation to his get. Lancaster throws color of the dam or a shade or two either way 70% of the time. When he's not letting the dams color through he's producing black out of grey & fawn from darks.
Peruvian Lancaster is proudly co-owned with Flying Pony Alpacas.

Jagger is a mighty impressive, truly true black son of the incredible 588 Peruvian Lancaster. What is truly true black? It is my term for jet-black -- blue-black -- black that doesn't get any blacker. To me, what alpaca breeders call "bay black" is actually a really, really dark brown. Jagger is not brown; he is BLACK. He is so black that it confuses my camera.
This male was acquired based largely on the strength of his pedigree. Peruvian Lancaster is a sire whose get I admire, particularly as a dam sire, though he's made some pretty killer sons, too. Lancaster's prepotency for his excellent conformation, bone, coverage, and uniformity of fleece are difficult to deny, and the fact that he has won "Herdsire of the Year" as well as a "Get of Sire" speaks to that.
What really caught my eye about Jagger's pedigree, however, was his dam line. Jagger's dam, Our Peruvian Jezebelle, is a champion, and that's no great shock given that her sire is the revered Majestic Peruvian Jeremiah, who has won "Herdsire of the Year" in both light and dark, and in multiple years. It also helps that Jezebelle's dam, Peruvian Jasmine, is a multiple champion herself, and she also happens to be the dam of Jeremiah's Peruvian Jumanji. Jumanji won 10+ championships, including Futurity, and lately he's been winning even more impressive awards -- Get of Sires -- three of them so far.
So, Jagger has some powerful genetics behind him, a whole big bunch of champions who are making champions reliably. Even Jagger's maternal half-sister, FPA Jazmin, has started her production career with a bang, as her first cria is now a 9x Champion, 8X Blue Ribbon, Judge's Choice girl. There is no "fail" in this guy's bloodlines.
Jagger is surely impressive himself, as his own championships can attest to. He is a large-framed male, with massive bone, a fantastically wide chest, and a very good spring of rib. His conformation is impeccable, of course. He has ridiculous fiber coverage that flows when he walks. His fleece is thick and dense, yet very nicely fine and extremely uniform. He has not yet had a histogram run, so his actual numbers won't be known until after 2016 shearing, but I expect them to be impressive.
Jagger is proven, and his first cria is a truly true black -- just like his sire. His stud fee has been set ridiculously low in order to get him proven even more. This boy deserves some work!
