We recently acquired Stingray, and were blown away by his histogram for an almost 5 year old male (55 months) that is a brown appy! While he appears a solid color in the upper part of his blanket, you can see he inherited spots from his award-winning sire and has a spotted pattern on his belly, inside legs, and part of his lower shoulder. His fiber stats are impressive, and he is retaining fineness and uniformity as he further matures:
AFD=17.8, SD=4.3, CV=24.4 with a Comfort Factor of 99.2%
Stingray is full Peruvian bloodlines from the Jim Barker Sweet Briar Suri herd, and is the son of Tinker's Blade runner, a multi-champion true rose grey male from Tinker's Creek Alpacas. His sire, Blade Runner, completed his show career as the 2006 AOBA Nation Grey Male Color Champion, winning 4 Championships at the 4 largest shows in the world!!! His fleece is fine and lustrous with a defined uniformity to the lock. His density is above average and carries himself with pride and determination. His coloring is a True Med Rose Grey from the top of his ears to tail. His unique bloodline sets him apart from all the others with grand sires Condor and Hakeen he has the genetics to pass color from Fawn to Black and Grey. His sire is offspring of the nationally known herd sire Condor. His dam, Sweetbriar Suri Shiraz, is the dam of multiple champion - including the Futurity Champion - SBS Crown Prince Twist' N Shout. Shiraz captured Reserve Color Champion at the 2005 Northern Illinois Alpaca Show before retiring to the breeding barn. Stingray has produced a beautiful appy female cria, " Peaches & Cream", from a white dam with a long pedigree of white generations. Peaches is brilliant white with sizeable brown spots scattered through her fleece and is classified for shows as an appaloosa. This cria has incredible fineness, beautiful luster, and good density as well. Stingray is currently sire for our Champion female, WRSR Karina by Razor with a cria due in early June 2016.

Deceased, but left us a gorceous cria

WRSR Karina by Razor

Perfect compact proportions on a frame with heavy bone makes this little girl pleasing to the eye, but in a smaller size. Karina weighed in at only 37 lbs at 1 year old when she arrived at our farm, but put on over 60 lbs in 9 months. Her fleece is beautifully soft and slick, with high luster and independent locking. To top it off, she has a great, easy-going personality and produced a 2.3 lb blanket from that tiny frame of only 42 lbs when she was shorn! Karina is by our WRSR Accoyo Razor, one of our top producers of density and high luster. Razor has the disposition and natural showy presence that we all covet in our breeding programs. His crias are farm favorites, as they are gentle, friendly, and curious. His crias perform well in the show ring in all classes, from the largest halter show and fleece shows in the country, to winning the most difficult performance and obstacle courses. Razor is an all-around stud that passes on his high luster, and zig-zag wavy locking. His crias win fleece shows because of their fineness, uniformity, and fleece weight, as Razor annually shears at least 8 lbs of fiber even at age 12. He is a fiber machine! Razor has produced crias from dark to light. Karina's dam is AIA Moonshadow Pixie, a beautiful classy dark fawn female bred by retired breeder Virginia Lentz. Pixie was awarded a 1st Place in the 2015 MAPACA Jubilee Fleece Show for her fleece shorn at 5 years old in 2014. Judy Keske, Judge, comments were "Beautiful color and handle, especially for age." Karina began her show career in the Previously Shorn classes (3"-11" growth) for the 2015 shows. She was awarded Reserve Champion at the 2015 Carolina Alpaca Show, and won Reserve Champion in fleece at the 2015 MAPACA Jubilee, too! What a great showing with recognition of her fineness, luster, and density. Karina is now proven with the delivery of her 2016 female cria, Sweet Dreams. Sweet Dreams is by SBS Stingray and is a deep maroon with black points. She has an extremely fine fleece like her sire, and solid conformation and was sold. She has been bred to our appy herd sire Shasta Springs Fusion for a late April cria. She was ultrasounded positive for pregnancy on 6/12/17. Karina delivered her cria with much assistance on 4/29/18, a gorgeous grey/fawn appy female, "Memory". Karina prolasped her uterus twice and died 2 days later from infection and kidney failure. Such a loss of a beautiful and sweet female. We are very sad, but she left us with a phenomenal cria to remember her by, WRSR Karin's Memory by Fusion. Description

Sweet Dreams has a great personality, correct conformation, and a superfine fleece! To top it off, she has beautiful luster and tiny locks. She routinely rolls in the grass and leaves, and the debris just falls off. Sweet Dreams is solid in color except for black points on her face and a "kissed the paint" white marking on her nose. She is solidly built, but not huge in size and is easy to handle. If you like friendly alpacas, Sweet Dreams is very curious and one of the first ones to come up to you. She is halter trained and walks on a lead and stands. She enjoys doing some obstacles, too! Call Patti for more information and to schedule a visit at 443-740-4240.
