PATAGONIA'S ERNESTO: Patagonia’s Ernesto is a magnificent light brown compact herdsire that improves every dam to her fullest potential. Before I purchased Ernesto, I bred numerous females to this dynamic male just to see what he could do. I discovered that I could take an average dam, breed her to Ernesto, and voila, he would produce a stunning offspring. This feat was proven when we had hundreds of the females assessed with their juvenile crias. Time and time again, the cria scored better than the dam so I knew I had something special going on with this male and one way to obtain improvement in the production of our breeding program. In many ways, Patagonia’s Ernesto has surpassed his one of a kind sire, Patagonia’s Lennox, and what Lennox has been able to achieve in his life-time. Ernesto’s dam, R&RR Irishea, is a light fawn from Ruth and Rodney Elvestad’s Canadian breeding program whose goal was to have lasting fine fleece, yet have the fleece to be the ultimate in density as well. Ruth operates Olds College in Canada working with fiber. Irishea is out of one of my very favorite males, CAVA Guivar Zorro, a true black import. He has many good breeding years left and would love to have the opportunity to prove it! Shiva is the daughter of Caballero Andante, an exceptional black male who passes his crimpy, dense fleece on to his crias. One of the original outstanding herdsires from Alpacas de la Patagonia, Caballero is a well-balanced herdsire, who is also reproducing his typey head, great bone structure and wonderful conformation. 2x Color/Reserve Champion! Shiva was awarded a Color Championship banner and Blue Ribbon at the 2002 AOBA National Alpaca Show. She also brought home a Reserve Color Championship banner and Blue Ribbon at the 2002 Alpaca Western Extravaganza show and 2nd Place ribbon from the 2002 Alpacapalooza show. Offspring: In 2014, Shiva had ESTATES SERENITY, a lovely true black female cria sired by our amazing brown herdsire, Patagonia's Ernesto. Ernesto is a Judges Choice & 7x Color/Res. Champion! In 2016, Shiva gave birth to ESTATES SILVER SWAN, a gorgeous light silver grey female sired by our Chief Grey Feather. Silver Swan was on our 2017 show string. She brought home the Califorina Classic Color Championship, blue ribbons at GWAS and California Classic, as well as several other ribbons. In 2017, Shiva had ESTATES BLACK SWAN, a beautiful true black female sired by Snowmass Satin Reserve XX, with Superior Royal Black Lineage From the Snowmass Black Breeding Program!
