A 16 micron MB at almost 6 years! We acquired this male directly from Snowmass as an addition to our dark breeding program especially for darker color and BLACK. His sire and grand sire being black and his solid even consistency in color makes him an ideal candidate to breed for darks. Snowmass kept impeccable recordings of his fleece development/micron counts and identified him on their website "as good as any of our whites". He was also noted as a "Truly unique and exciting young male! His Dam Snowmass Petite Syrah sold for a well deserved record price at our 2011 sale to Cloud Hollow alpacas. His genetics have proven to be the very best in consistency color fineness density and overall excellence in quality!." Take a look at his histograms over the years. This boy is phenomenal! Octavia is a nice black girl with fine fleece and nice staple length. She was described by the judge at MOPACA as having the "best handle" of the group. She has been exposed to Snowmass Paso Robles, the sire of the 2019 National Dark Supreme Champion Male, for a spring 2020 cria. I expect him to give her the boost in density that she needs to compliment her fineness. Her fineness, Paso's everything and the fact that she has thrown black cria two of three times has me convinced this spring baby should be a good cria.
