PATAGONIA'S ERNESTO: Patagonia’s Ernesto is a magnificent light brown compact herdsire that improves every dam to her fullest potential. Before I purchased Ernesto, I bred numerous females to this dynamic male just to see what he could do. I discovered that I could take an average dam, breed her to Ernesto, and voila, he would produce a stunning offspring. This feat was proven when we had hundreds of the females assessed with their juvenile crias. Time and time again, the cria scored better than the dam so I knew I had something special going on with this male and one way to obtain improvement in the production of our breeding program. In many ways, Patagonia’s Ernesto has surpassed his one of a kind sire, Patagonia’s Lennox, and what Lennox has been able to achieve in his life-time. Ernesto’s dam, R&RR Irishea, is a light fawn from Ruth and Rodney Elvestad’s Canadian breeding program whose goal was to have lasting fine fleece, yet have the fleece to be the ultimate in density as well. Ruth operates Olds College in Canada working with fiber. Irishea is out of one of my very favorite males, CAVA Guivar Zorro, a true black import. He has many good breeding years left and would love to have the opportunity to prove it! PATAGONIA'S CHOLENA Dark or grey breeders pay attention.....Patagonia's Cholena is a beautiful dark brown girl out of Patagonia's Malbec and Patagonia's Natalya. She has placed in the top of her class in every show she was entered in. This dam is a product from the highly desirable Nishio & Danko cross. Champion Producer: Cholena's 2014 daughter (out of Patagonia's Ernesto) was awarded Color champion and 1st place at the 2016 Heart of Virginia Alpaca Show, she also won reserve champion and 1st place at the 2015 CABA Classic, as well as another blue ribbon at the 2015 California Classic show! Offspring: On 8/12/14, Cholena delivered a beautiful, healthy and strong black female out of Patagonia's Ernesto, our magnificent Judge's Choice, 7x Champion & 5x Get of Sire award winning light brown herdsire. Her daughter, LIBERTYS ALLEGIANCE is a 2x Champion and multiple blue-ribbon winner! On 10/17/15, Cholena gave us a lovely true black female sired by the Futurity winning herdsire, WAP The Black Medallion. In 2017, Cholena gave birth to a nice-looking light brown male cria. On 9/8/20, Cholena presented us with a beautiful light fawn female sired by 9x Champion, Estates Legendary Picasso. ESTATES PICASSO'S CHARISMA helped Alpaca Country Estates bring home a Blue Ribbon for Breeder's Best Three at the 2021 Buckeye Alpaca Show. Judge Sharon Loner also awarded her a 3rd Place ribbon at the 2021 Buckeye Alpaca Show.
