Epic Alpacas is pleased to announce the addition of Crescent Moon's Wilkinson to our outstanding lineup of herdsires! Wilkinson is a 10-time Champion and more notably, he's the back-to-back National Color Champion, taking the highest grey male honors at AOA in both 2015 and 2016! Most recently, as a 3.5 year old, he took the Color Championship at the 2016 Alpaca Breeders Invitational in a very competitive group of greys, proving that even after having cria on the ground, he's still got it! It's no wonder that Wilkinson is such an impressive male. His sire, Accoyo America Jason, is a legend in his own time, winning AOBA Nationals Color Champion in brown three years running. It is rare to find such exquisite crimp, character and density of fleece as Jason. Even better, Jason has consistently reproduced those characteristics in his crias, at such a high level that even his white offspring are consistently ribboning in the competitive white classes, and many of his progeny are champions! Wilkinson's dam, Crescent Moon's Forget Me Not, is also a Color Champion in her own right, winning 10 blue ribbons and 4 banners, including 2010 Futurity Grey Female Reserve Color Champion and 2014 CABA Classic 1st Place Produce of Dam. Wilkinson's cria have started arriving here at Epic and we are THRILLED! So much density, so much character, so much grey! His eldest male offspring, Crescent Moon's Subasio, has started making his impact on the show circuit in Fall 2017 with a number of blues and a Reserve Championship at an amazingly competitive double show in Oregon. Chelsi is a regal looking female with gorgeous medium grey fleece. Her blanket is virtually spot-free with a long staple. She has excellent confirmation and her first breeding to 38s Midnight Special NS produced our best cria yet and our first Reserve Color Champion. Chelsi's second cria, sired by Crescent Moon's Nitro, is a beautiful dark grey female with outstanding fleece! Her third cria is the best yet, another daughter, out of Crescent Moon's Wilkinson. For her 2018 cria, she has been bred to the 2016/2017 Herdsire of the Year--Neversummer's US Steel! Chelsi's lineage goes back five generation of silver. She has exceptional fiber with beautiful character and abundant covering good conformation. Her sire, Silver Elation is a rare dilute silver gray with an incredibly soft, well bundled and consistent fleece without any spots that is so dense, if feels like a heavy carpet. This male was born with a distinct Classic Silver Gray pattern which all but disappeared as his fiber dried. Every person who has seen him has been impressed by this amazing fleece that appears platinum in color with white in the neck, bib, face and legs. His cria are consistent as proven by his 2013 Get-of-Sire placement at the CABA Classic behind Accoyo America Navigator and HemiAccoyo Kashmir.
