Kohana comes from one of the best fleece lines at Alpacas de la Patagonia and is a half-brothers to Celio. Celio is the 2013 AOBA National Champion who won 8 times RC/CC. Kohana's dam is Chiachina, a Vinvi daughter. Vinci is Patagonia's white herdsire who won blue ribbons and is out of Nishio. Nichio was the 2004 All-American Herdsire and the 2007 Reserve All-American herdsire. Kohana's sire is Lennox, an 8 time color champion who ranked in the top .5% of all animals biopsied for follicle testing by Dr. Norm Evans. At Alpacapalooza 2011, Judge Wade Geese said, "It's impressive that at two years of age, this male carries forward this kind of finess and density." Kohana's histogram at 2 years of age shows that he had and AFG of 19.7m, and SD of 4.4m, CV of 22.3% and .30=1.3%. In 2024, Kohana is now 15 years old and still carries a fine 22.8 micron fiber. While Kohana has mostly produced Brown crias from dams, there is a possiblity of Rose Gray from Danko, his grandsire. Although Kohana's fiber is not as fine as some others, it still makes nice yarn or whatever you choose to use it for. Kohanahas produces beautiful crias for us. One of them is Sawdust's Meranti, born May 30, 2018 and now living on the Hawaiian island of Maui!.

On August 24, 2013, Lilly arrived at our ranch. She possesses excellent conformation, soft-handled fiber, and a great disposition. We bred her for the first time in October 2013 to our herdsire, FR Magneto, for a 2014 cria. Over the years, Lilly has produced some exceptional cria for Sawdust Alpacas. Some of them have been winners in shows, while others were not entered. However, all of Lilly's crias have had great conformation, bone density, and nice fiber, as well as inheriting their mother's quiet disposition. Some of Lilly's crias are now living on other farms in different states, with one even residing on the Hawaiian island of Maui! Lilly, being the oldest of our females, has lost a couple of teeth. However, she is still maintaining her weight through eating well and producing very nice, ribbon-winning crias. 10/5/24 Lilly has given birth to a beautiful 15.3 pound female cria. Sire is Sawdusts Almond Thunder. Lilly and her cria will be going home to their new owners soon.

ZINGER is a stand out, Great phenotype and bone structure. His fiber is very consistent throughout his whole frame. He is the spiting image of his sire ZAGATO, ARI # 32423105, a multi ribbon champion! Zagato produced a boy in his likeness with SA Peruvian What's Cooking (Cookie) and he is a real Zinger! He has all the attributes of a great one like his Sire, Multi-Judge's Choice and Champion, Sunset Hill's Zagato. We purchased him w/his mom Cookie at the Las Vegas Priority Auction , 2017 and what a looker. The judges at AlpacaPalooza and Great Western Alpaca Show in 2017 were truly impressed . "Consistent fiber throughout, Great phenotype, solid confirmation with great bone density". 2020 ZINGER is a Proven Herd Sire with several offspring on the ground. April 2023 upddate: We have 5 Zinger offspring going to the Great Western Alpaca Show. They will all compete in walking fleece, halter and 3 will compete in a class called Get of Sire (3 alpacas with the same sire but different dams) and 2 will compete in Produce of Dam (2 alpacas from the same dam, at least 1 year apart - in this case also the same sire). We are hoping they all do well. Each alpaca will be judged comparatively on traits passed down from their sire, Zinger. March 24, 2024 We are once again taking Zinger offspring to the Great Western Alpaca Show/Rocky Mountain Alpaca Showcase. This time to Cheyenne, WY May 3-5, 2024. Our first visit to Cheyenne, WY and our 2 youngest male crias (Sawdust's Albizia -aka Moose and Sawdust's Linden) to show. Sawdust's Ceiba, Murwiti and Tabasco are making their 3rd appearance at a show as they were at GWAS last year, then to Gold Country Gathering In October, 2023 and now again to GWAS/RMAS again.
