Crawford is a nicely built, beautiful, light to medium silver grey guy with a wonderful handle (speaking both of his fleece and disposition) He is the result of two champion parents. His sire, 15X champ RR Gun's Kit Carson is truly still producing some beautiful, award-winning offspring. His EPD's show him to be in the top 10% for uniformity. That uniformity in grey is especially amazing! If you research his pedigree, numerous are banner winners and recent top sellers at select auctions. Crawford was awarded a first place in walking fleece and a Reserve Championship in halter at the 2016 California Classic. Awarded over 23 other beautiful grey alpacas. We showed him as a mature breeding male and he took a 2nd place among some top grey breeders. Once again the judge commenting on the micron fineness, uniformity and handle of his fleece placing him above the others in the class. He just received a 1st place as a mature male in the AAWO spin-off. Come get your hands on this guy - seeing may be believing, but sometimes touching really seals the deal. Nice staple length, near solid color blanket and a great handle on this boy. Really fine and Uniform AFD 18.4 & 3.05 SD - two histograms in a row! A breeding male with over a 97% comfort factor and in grey! We also had a fleece industry expert evaluate him and they affirmed he has the qualities of what a breeding male should. Because he is steeped in grey genetics both sides of pedigree we anticipated that he would produce grey. His first cria was dark silver grey from a fawn dam without any grey. For 2018 he was 5 for 5 in grey - 3 silver 2 rose grey. In 2019 colors Crawford produced from him were rose & silver greys, true blacks and a bay black/maroon. His offspring at 2018 California Classic received a 1st place, the other a 2nd in both halter and walking fleece. Comments from the judge were nice fineness, staple length and density. Gold Country 2019, one of his son's took a 1st place in walking fleece. Comments from renown Judge Wini Labrecque that she had to look down at his legs for guard hair, rarely gives a score of 9 so gave him an 8.5. He received a very nice total score (pictured to right) Crawford is still holding commendable stats in fineness and uniformity as a breeding male of any color, so bring your best girls! Contact us today if you are interested in more information on Crawford. We now have offspring old enough to breed so can't wait to see what they produce for us.

*TRUFFLE is currently being leased out to produce a beautiful cria. Contact us for dates on when she will be available again for sale. Truffle is a spunky, delightful girl who thinks she's in charge. Her father, LondonDairy Ra1 is a multi-award winning alpaca and it definitely shows in Truffle's fleece. Beautiful, dense and crimpy...she will be an outstanding Foundation Female for your herd! In addition to being an outstanding Foundation Female, she is extremely "touchable" and would make a great PR animal. Seriously...she loves belly rubs and enjoys having her neck scratched. She runs to us when we enter the gate and loves to be touched. Perfect for farm visits!

Description

We had no idea what color to expect with this pairing but did expect something nice from our fabulous fleeced 4-sight's Crawford and Milk Chocolate Truffle. Truffle, his dam is a sturdy girl with lovely dense fleece and delivered this 19 pound guy for her first baby. Ganache is a large, dreamy, dark copper-bronze color with a little grey hue, adorable markings and long eye lashes to boot! Given his sire is silver grey we will be watching his fleece in anticipation that he will be rose grey, more the dark modern color. Great markings with some spots. We are curious to see how his fleece grows because he looks like he is loaded. We thought we would branch off of his mom's name and dubbed him Truffle's baby Ganache. He seems confident and friendly and is getting big so fast, we will definitely have to drop the baby part. Given our grey sire Crawford had 3 boys, we will likely have to part with one of them. Let us know if you are interested in seeing and/or sharing Ganache with us. UPDATE: Copper Ganache has now received winning ribbons in a few shows. 2019 Gold Country walking fleece he received a 1st place in his class with really commendable scores nearly all the way across the board. [score; 5/5 for uniform length 19/20 fineness & handle 8.5/10 uniform micron 8.5/10 absence of guard hair, 8/10 character/crimp, 4/5 density 8/10 brightness 5/5 uniformity of color 5/5 absence of impurities] Judge Wini Labrecque commented she rarely gives a 9 and gave an 8.5 having to look at his legs to find guard hair. A big congratulations to his wonderful owners Simple Peace Farm!
