Kiva is a beautiful rose grey girl sired by WLK Silver Stone, the 2009 Grey CC at The Futurity and then in 2015 was the Dark Color Get of Sire at The Futurity. That means the top part of her pedigree has Silver Heat, Angel, and Silver Bullet. There are also great grey dams in Silver Stone's pedigree like Uma, Silver Orchid, and Stone's dam Silver's Jewel. Silver's Jewel was a two time banner winner including a Reserve Champion banner at The Futurity. Jewel not only produced Silver Stone, but also produced Silver Threads. The top part of Kiva's pedigree is definitely filled with great grey genetics. Kiva's dam is WLK French Silk. Silk is a 5 time banner winner and a 1 time Judge's Choice at MOPACA in 2012. Silk is half Accoyo as she is the daughter of DDF Double Dutch's American Spirit who is full Accoyo and was at one time sold for $175,000. Double Dutch is a Crown Royale son. Kiva's dam's dam is Pacific Crest Peruvian Polly and she is a MacGyver daughter. While there are no greys in the bottom of Kiva's pedigree, it is filled with outstanding genetics. French Silk has been biopsied and she had great data with an S/P ratio of 10.2 to 1 and only an 8.3 micron spread between the secondary and primary AFDs. We purchased Kiva to be a production female for a grey line in our herd, but the simple fact is we have too many production females right now. We submitted a fleece sample for a histogram and that data was used for her EPDs (click on the link). We are pleased with the grade 2 fleece and the uniformity when one considers Kiva is a grey with a mixture of colors in that fleece. She has developed a little higher micron to her fleece, but we are really pleased with the good amount of uniformity she shows for a grey female. Kiva had a 13.6 lb male cria sired by MMALP Citation on June 25, 2020. He's either brown or a modern dark rose grey and time will tell for sure. He has outstanding luster. We have bred Kiva to Zoltar for a cria to be born in June in 2024.

Description

Triple Crown's grey sire MMALP Citation has some very unique genetics and only sired two crias before he was tragically lost in the fall of 2019. We have both of them born to our herd in 2020, one female and this male Triple Crown. Citation's sire was Libertad's Notorious, a rose grey male that was sired by Accoyo America Libertad. Libertad only sired 5 offspring before being lost in a barn fire. He was sired by NGG Accoyo Apache II. So, that means Citation's sire Notorious was a half Accoyo grey male and there just aren't many greys with that much Accoyo genetics in them. Citation's dam WLK Adriana has great grey genetics and was a banner winner. More importantly, Adriana has been a great production female and has produced a multiple number of banner winners herself. Her sire was the great grey herdsire Silver Heat and her dam was an outstanding grey female Silver Marquis' Platinum Plus. Platinum Plus is the dam of our black male herdsire BB and was sired by another great grey herdsire named Silver Marquis of Round Hill. So, we have great Accoyo genetics combined with great grey genetics on the top half of Triple Crown's pedigree. The unique thing is that there is a lot of the same great grey genetics as found in the top half of Triple Crown's pedigree as found in the bottom along with some different great Accoyo genetics. Triple Crown's dam is Silverstone's Kiva. Her sire is WLK Silver Stone and he was also sired by Peruvian Silver Heat. Silver Stone's pedigree is predominately grey alpacas. Kiva's dam is WLK French Silk. Her sire is a great Accoyo herdsire by the name of DDF Double Dutch's American Spirit. He was such an outstanding Accoyo herdsire at one time that he was sold to someone for the price of $175,000. He was sired by Crown Royale and was out of a Viceroy daughter. French Silk also has the great MacGyver's genetics in her pedigree as her dam was a MacGyver daughter. So, Triple Crown was a bit line bred for the great grey genetics of Silver Heat combined with two different great lines of Accoyo genetics. He's another unique genetic powerhouse. It's not a surprise then that Triple Crown has such great conformation and such a beautiful Suri phenotype. He has great fleece coverage and an exceptional Suri head style. His fleece is lustrous, fine, dense, and organized. It's also grey as far as we can tell if you open it up. We felt it matched with either dark silver grey or dark rose grey when we opened it up next to the fleece color card. So, we think he is a modern grey Suri alpaca. His unique genetics, his great look, and his lustrous grey or brown or taupe fleece make him special.
