HuacayaHerdsire (Male)Medium Silver Grey

Crawford is a nicely built, beautiful, light to medium silver grey guy with a wonderful handle (speaking both of his fleece and disposition) He is the result of two champion parents. His sire, 15X champ RR Gun's Kit Carson is truly still producing some beautiful, award-winning offspring. His EPD's show him to be in the top 10% for uniformity. That uniformity in grey is especially amazing! If you research his pedigree, numerous are banner winners and recent top sellers at select auctions. Crawford was awarded a first place in walking fleece and a Reserve Championship in halter at the 2016 California Classic. Awarded over 23 other beautiful grey alpacas. We showed him as a mature breeding male and he took a 2nd place among some top grey breeders. Once again the judge commenting on the micron fineness, uniformity and handle of his fleece placing him above the others in the class. He just received a 1st place as a mature male in the AAWO spin-off. Come get your hands on this guy - seeing may be believing, but sometimes touching really seals the deal. Nice staple length, near solid color blanket and a great handle on this boy. Really fine and Uniform AFD 18.4 & 3.05 SD - two histograms in a row! A breeding male with over a 97% comfort factor and in grey! We also had a fleece industry expert evaluate him and they affirmed he has the qualities of what a breeding male should. Because he is steeped in grey genetics both sides of pedigree we anticipated that he would produce grey. His first cria was dark silver grey from a fawn dam without any grey. For 2018 he was 5 for 5 in grey - 3 silver 2 rose grey. In 2019 colors Crawford produced from him were rose & silver greys, true blacks and a bay black/maroon. His offspring at 2018 California Classic received a 1st place, the other a 2nd in both halter and walking fleece. Comments from the judge were nice fineness, staple length and density. Gold Country 2019, one of his son's took a 1st place in walking fleece. Comments from renown Judge Wini Labrecque that she had to look down at his legs for guard hair, rarely gives a score of 9 so gave him an 8.5. He received a very nice total score (pictured to right) Crawford is still holding commendable stats in fineness and uniformity as a breeding male of any color, so bring your best girls! Contact us today if you are interested in more information on Crawford. We now have offspring old enough to breed so can't wait to see what they produce for us.

When you fall in love with a certain breeding program, appreciating their achievement in brightness (in grey color) you can hardly resist the temptation to add to your herd. We had recently sold a few of our males and had a little bit of seller's remorse, when we saw a post regarding some of Granite Bay beauties being available. Before other life circumstances could delay, we acquired him, sight-unseen. Well, we did have fleece shots and knew the reputation of care and lineage so we weren't worried one bit about what would be on the end of the lead when we received him. We couldn't wait to meet him at the show. One of our favorite esteemed judges was the fleece judge and she took a sample around to point out the crimp in his guard hair for others surrounding to witness the softness of hand. Blue's score card was icing on the cake. He received a 2nd of 11 in his class going up against some real contenders including some of his own prior herd-mates. His sire is A Paca Fun's SilverLegacy who won numerous first places from A Paca Funs successful grey program and his dam is Granite Bay's Blue XX who received a 1st place at ABR fleece show 2020. She sired the gorgeous true black Champion Granite Bay Jet Blue XX. Blue grew up real quick - in fact we suspect that may have been why he didn't rank as well in the halter show the following spring. Now he has grown to a nice stature, considerably well balanced and proportioned. Gold Country show the judge awarded him a 2nd place with comments big size for his age and a dense fleece. His walking fleece score was 8 of 10 brightness 3.5 of 5 density, 8 of 10 uniformity of micron and 16 of 20 fineness. We are extremely pleased. Blue's histogram came in as 20.2 micron. Considering we are striving to add brightness and density to our predominately grey herd, we are excited to see how his first offspring progress. They were all sturdy and up and nursing in no time, just like you like them. Two of the grey boys born have extraordinary looking heads at just a few months of age! Let us know if you would like any more information on Granite Bay's Blue Silver. We expect a bright future in the offspring to come!

Description

Valentina is a striking young girl with unique markings. She has good size, conformation and a lovely fleece. Not just lovely fleece, lots of it - beautiful staple length and handle. She is sired by the award-winning, silver grey, 4-Sight's Crawford who has been proven to pass his uniformity and fineness to his offspring. With his genetics being steeped in silver grey, we think this girl would benefit a grey breeding program. She gave birth unassisted to a very nice robust true black boy. She truly nursed and nurtured him like a real professional. He was one of the largest crias of the season and was sold almost instantly. We would not hesitate to recommend her to those wanting to grow their herd. She recently birthed a beautiful medium to dark colored, silver grey male by Granite Bay's Blue Silver. That male has an awesome bright medium silver grey fleece.
