Magnus has done so much for us! He has been a cornerstone in our breeding program, improving every female he was bred to and producing Champions like no other males to date did for us. 6x Champion and 2x Best in Show – both in fleece and halter – Magnus is quite the package. In fleece show, he scored 89/100. Not to shabby in my opinion! He is a solid and stunning macho. His fleece is incredibly dense, shiny and well defined. His sire is Xanadu P Resolute, a male that made a tremendous impact in the Eastern Canadian industry. His dam is a Cimmaron Gold Legend daughter that produced 4x Supreme Champion Averegan’s Merida. Magnus shares almost the exact genetics as 7x Black Champion Averegan’s Aftershock, another Resolute x Cimmaron Gold Legend cross. The best way to judge the potential of a herdsire is by his progeny, and frankly Magnus did deliver. His progeny has great well-built conformations with solid bones and dispositions. Fleece-wise, they are all an improved version of their dams’ fleece. Producing crias from white to black and grey that are having fleeces as fine as 14.2 microns (Anrhumé – WH) with outstanding staple length and fleece weight, add to that crimp from skin to tip and great shine. His very first cria, Nyla of Peterboro, won the Combined Brown Colour Champion title in Fall 2019. Since then, Magnus has produced Champions in every colour, from white to black and grey. In fleece shows, his progeny reached up to 86.5/100 and culminated titles of "Judge's Choice", “Best Crimp” and “Best Brightness”! His black daughter, Miss Andean Shadow du DNA, is a 4x Champion that scored up to 79/100 – a score rarely given to blacks in Canada. As a bonus, our first generation of Magnus daughters are now producing Champions! ACA Xenia – so much is owed to this female. She truly represents what a true foundation female is… She has shaped and put our breeding program on the map, and there are truly no other females that had such an impact. Xenia was purchased in March 2008, when she was still at her dam’s side, ACA Crispina, a Hemingway granddaughter. Xenia produced some amazing females for us: Lady Azira du DNA, Lady Adrenaline du DNA and Dame Allure du DNA. These females also became incredible producers just like their dam. Azira notably produced Miss Allegria du DNA, dam of 2x Champion Miss Azura du DNA and Reserve Champion Miss Allegresse du DNA. Adrénaline produced our champions Noble Atlantik du DNA, Noble Aucean Breeze du DNA, Miss Auceanie du DNA and the promising young Miss Aucean Tides du DNA, while Allure’s production is equally impressive with Judge’s Choice & 4x Champion Noble Aviator du DNA, 2x Reserve Champion Noble Awaited Heritage du DNA and Miss Alliance du DNA. This line represents the majority of our herd’s genome as most female descendants are tagged “keepers” from the start. After breeding alpacas for over 14 years, we’ve started to develop a nice pool of females to pick from for our breeding program. On the other hand, it is also very sad to see some females that did amazingly well for us in the past year, or to simply see unused young girls that have the potential to be good producers. Our pool gave us the possibility to select the very bests. In 2019, we were lucky enough to have 8 females, all Magnus daughters. Having 3 others born in 2020, we must put some aside from our program… Acacia is our first Magnus daughter. She has very strong bones and topline. Fleece coverage on her legs is incredible! She has inherited her dam’s head style with no fleece coverage on her face and a longer/finer muzzle… The positive side is that Xenia is the ancestor of the prettiest faces we have, dam to Amadeo, Azira and Adrenaline, grand dam to Amber’s Spirit, Aucean, Aucean Breeze and Atlantik. Bred in consequences, the possibilities that great head style emerges are there! She is a very dark colour, a bay black female. I would consider her crimp to be good for her colour and fineness correct. Density is amazing! She has a very dominant personality in the herd. Acacia is maternal sister to 3x Champion Allure, Adrenaline, Azira and 1st place winner Aquarelle. This is our best maternal line. On this side of her pedigree alone, she is the combination of Hemingway, Alpamayo, Vaccoyo and Jolimont Peruvian Ariquipa, whose 2 daughters are amazing (MMR Arequipina that we have trough many of our past herdsires and MMR Arcelli)! Her ancestors have won several titles in shows! Her maternal grand sire is a Supreme Champion from a 3x Champion dam. Her sire is Magnus, coming from the Xanadu P Resolute (Maple Brooks Barnabus) lines and the Cimmaron Gold Legend lines. Due to her head style and her correct fineness for colour (we want to reach the EXCELLENT fineness), she is priced to sell. After working for years with her maternal line, we also feel that we have just enough ACA Crispina/ACA Xenia into our herd and genetics diversity is needed. We believe that she could be a good production female if bred properly for colour. She is currently unregistered but can be to the buyers like. Discounts can be applied on her maiden breeding. Acacia has been sold. Congratulations to the new owners! We'll be looking forward to see the offsprings she'll have with Sir Arrow du DNA. This is another version of the very succesful Resolute x Bonanza cross (also known here as Chananza x Magnus)
