Magnus has done so much for us! He has been a cornerstone in our breeding program, improving every female he was bred to and producing Champions like no other males to date did for us. 6x Champion and 2x Best in Show – both in fleece and halter – Magnus is quite the package. In fleece show, he scored 89/100. Not to shabby in my opinion! He is a solid and stunning macho. His fleece is incredibly dense, shiny and well defined. His sire is Xanadu P Resolute, a male that made a tremendous impact in the Eastern Canadian industry. His dam is a Cimmaron Gold Legend daughter that produced 4x Supreme Champion Averegan’s Merida. Magnus shares almost the exact genetics as 7x Black Champion Averegan’s Aftershock, another Resolute x Cimmaron Gold Legend cross. The best way to judge the potential of a herdsire is by his progeny, and frankly Magnus did deliver. His progeny has great well-built conformations with solid bones and dispositions. Fleece-wise, they are all an improved version of their dams’ fleece. Producing crias from white to black and grey that are having fleeces as fine as 14.2 microns (Anrhumé – WH) with outstanding staple length and fleece weight, add to that crimp from skin to tip and great shine. His very first cria, Nyla of Peterboro, won the Combined Brown Colour Champion title in Fall 2019. Since then, Magnus has produced Champions in every colour, from white to black and grey. In fleece shows, his progeny reached up to 86.5/100 and culminated titles of "Judge's Choice", “Best Crimp” and “Best Brightness”! His black daughter, Miss Andean Shadow du DNA, is a 4x Champion that scored up to 79/100 – a score rarely given to blacks in Canada. As a bonus, our first generation of Magnus daughters are now producing Champions! Adrenaline is a prime example of a foundation female! She is producing top class offspring that are the embodiment of the next generation we thrive to produce, and I strongly hope they will, just like her, impact our program when they come of age. Adrenaline is herself a very correct in conformation female with a good size, body capacity and alignments, to top it all with a nice head. All her crias has inherit that nice conformation and head style, with a look-at-me presence. Her fleece had micro-bundled crimp with a nice staple length and density. She started her breeding career with a BANG in 2018 when her first cria Aucean was born! This male had an incredible 7” long staple that was so well defined and that head! Aucean is a 1st place winner. It was only the beginning… Her 2019 male out of Magnus, Atlantik, might be the most masculine looking male we’ve produced… His amazing modern grey fleece got him a Reserve Champion ribbon. Aucean Breeze, the second out of four full siblings, expressed the same level of micro-bundling in his fleece, which obtained a score of 85/100 in fleece show, earning a fawn Colour Championship and Best Crimp award! Aceanie, the third progeny from that cross had a silkier looking fleece until her 1st shearing. It then turned out into that well-defined crimp style that judge Cathy Merkley praised, giving her the white Reserve Championship! Aucean Tides, #4 from Adrenaline and Magnus has big shoes to fill, but I somehow believe she will be up to the task whatever the ribbons!

I had long coveted the lines of CCNF Elixir and those of his legendary sire, Snowmass Elite Legend for their proven production of award-winning alpacas. When the opportunity to acquire a male from these lines was offered, I didn’t hesitate! Alpacajoy Excelsior is one of the first-born offspring out of CCNF Elixir, 5x Judge’s Choice and 3x HoTY, and his only son in Canada. His elite pedigree on his sire’s side traces back to CCNF Archangel, Snowmass Quechua, and 5Peruvian Cangalli. His dam, CCNF Chiquita, is the matriarch of one of Alpacajoy of Norway’s best lines, producing offspring still winning championships at the age of 5 (Alpacajoy Epiphany – Excelsior’s ¾ sister). CCNF Chiquita is a direct daughter of Futurity Champion, Snowmass Messiah, and a granddaughter of Snowmass Accoyocusani. The award-winning descendants from this line in Norway have an impressive show-record history… He showcases a very dense fleece with highly aligned crimp, fineness, great staple length and longevity. With no guard hair on his frame, Excelsior will bring great qualities into our breeding program. Although his show career was cut short while he was in quarantine to be exported to Norway, Excelsior was unbeatable in the Light category, winning Light Colour Champion both times. He attained the score of 83/100 in fleece show with his 3rd fleece. As a breeding male, Excelsior produces offsprings with improved density, barely any visible guard hair on them, superior staple length and wide chest. In 2023, he has improved every dam he was bred to, and will be put on our best females during the 2024 season. With his fawn colour genotype, when bred to whites, his crias are often beige/light.
