4-Sight's Crawford

HuacayaHerdsire (Male)Medium Silver Grey
AOA# 31777018DOB: 6/9/20159 yrs
Crawford is a nicely built, beautiful, light to medium silver grey guy with a wonderful handle (speaking both of his fleece and disposition) He is the result of two champion parents. His sire, 15X champ RR Gun's Kit Carson is truly still producing some beautiful, award-winning offspring. His EPD's show him to be in the top 10% for uniformity. That uniformity in grey is especially amazing! If you research his pedigree, numerous are banner winners and recent top sellers at select auctions. Crawford was awarded a first place in walking fleece and a Reserve Championship in halter at the 2016 California Classic. Awarded over 23 other beautiful grey alpacas. We showed him as a mature breeding male and he took a 2nd place among some top grey breeders. Once again the judge commenting on the micron fineness, uniformity and handle of his fleece placing him above the others in the class. He just received a 1st place as a mature male in the AAWO spin-off. Come get your hands on this guy - seeing may be believing, but sometimes touching really seals the deal. Nice staple length, near solid color blanket and a great handle on this boy. Really fine and Uniform AFD 18.4 & 3.05 SD - two histograms in a row! A breeding male with over a 97% comfort factor and in grey! We also had a fleece industry expert evaluate him and they affirmed he has the qualities of what a breeding male should. Because he is steeped in grey genetics both sides of pedigree we anticipated that he would produce grey. His first cria was dark silver grey from a fawn dam without any grey. For 2018 he was 5 for 5 in grey - 3 silver 2 rose grey. In 2019 colors Crawford produced from him were rose & silver greys, true blacks and a bay black/maroon. His offspring at 2018 California Classic received a 1st place, the other a 2nd in both halter and walking fleece. Comments from the judge were nice fineness, staple length and density. Gold Country 2019, one of his son's took a 1st place in walking fleece. Comments from renown Judge Wini Labrecque that she had to look down at his legs for guard hair, rarely gives a score of 9 so gave him an 8.5. He received a very nice total score (pictured to right) Crawford is still holding commendable stats in fineness and uniformity as a breeding male of any color, so bring your best girls! Contact us today if you are interested in more information on Crawford. We now have offspring old enough to breed so can't wait to see what they produce for us.

Tabokia's White Gold Gardenia

HuacayaOpen (Female)White
AOA# 35085096DOB: 9/1/20177 yrs
What do you get when you do a repeat breed of a black dam to a medium silver guy when they had a medium silver cria together the year prior? You get a surprising reminder that grey is unpredictable as the least likely suspected color pops out! As I watched the delivery, I thought wow an all white head, white feet, likely be a tux but as she came out solid white from head to toe - well almost, she has grey skin at feet, dark eyes and eyelids with liner. We thought about naming her sterling or grey gardenia just in case she changed from white to grey. One of my mom's favorite flowers were gardenias and she was allergic to silver so had jewelry made of white gold, hence White Gold Gardenia. Her grey sire is a 3/4 brother to Royal Steel and his biopsy revealed him to be one of the most uniform Ian Watt has tested in any color! Seriously read the write up on Estates Platinum Tabokia on the Howling Hill Farm site. Her grandsire Snowmass Nova Galaxy was a real stunner too. Besides awesome genetics, we think she has got an enormous dose of the cute factor. She caught the eye of different people for photography and even inspired a couple different paintings by artists early in life. She has delivered very bright, true black (Blackest of black colors) two times in a row with different colored males one grey and one dark fawn. Last years cria had rather wild white face markings from the beautiful grey 4-Sight's Crawford. He was a real head turner! She has given birth to her best yet. This guy is the first from the amazing Majestic's Armani and he is looking like one worth keeping. Price includes current cria by her side.

Description

Gotta love it when a "white " dam gives birth to bright black babies - two times in a row. This guy is marked with more white than his younger half-brother and looks very similar to his grandmother Estates Galaxy's Daisy Mae. We named him Barnyard Blitz - will see if his barn name ends up being Barney or Blitz -- likely not going with BYB. He is very uniquely marked and definitely a standout in our pastures. Since Kit Carson & US steel are both in his lineage we thought we may wait & watch to see how he develops. However, we had 3 black huacaya boys born in this season. So some must move on.
