JJA Seriously Silver

HuacayaHerdsire (Male)Medium Silver Grey
AOA# 30718678DOB: 6/20/20186 yrs
Seriously Silver is packing on gorgeous silky dense solid silver fiber. We call him Spot (spot below nostril) to simplify things here. He has huge bone like both parents. His dam is a Legend's Peruvian Revelation of KPR daughter with Accoyo Goldsmith and Accoyo Felix heading up her maternal side. Spot's sire is our Sierra's Seismic who when shown took many close 2nds to Jacob Black. They share about 3/4 of the same ancestry. Seismic has very strong black genetics and grey with Our Black Jag, Black Mesquite, CPeruvian Black Knight, CPeruvian Silvio, Matado, and then some Winchester to throw some fawn in the mix. Spot has the strong black making genetics from his sire. However, his 4 offspring so far are 2 silver's from silver dams, BB from a mrg and TB from a DF. I have bred him to 3 girls for '25 cria. I couldn't use him last year as I had to get another male started. He is related to many of my darks. This guy is at his prime and still has gorgeous fleece-just sent in his 6th fleece for yarn that was just under 4 lbs that was heavily skirted so that I'd have enough for roving too. He is easy to handle on lead. He needs to be used more to make great black and greys with gorgeous crimp, density and fineness. Sorry, I have not had time to get fleece data since 2019 but I can send samples to prospective owners-I also have yarn you can ogle over if you come to see him in person! Self-employed with two businesses and 40 plus alpacas.... I'm trying to lessen some labor by decreasing both males and females. That 2019 National Show 2nd place was behind Karen Ball's boy-she won in all the grey classes! The 2020 National show was the same boy in 1st and modern grey in 2nd so his 3rd would have been another 2nd if huge class was split like other shows.

Grey Monet

HuacayaBred (Female)Medium Silver Grey
AOA# 35446361DOB: 5/18/20177 yrs
This girl has a very nice handle to her spot free blanket. Her conformation is perfect and she is docile and easy to handle. We decided to breed her to our true black multi-champion Preacher who is out of a gorgeous silver grey female and a light fawn (PHA Accoyo Impeccable 8 time champ 14 x blue ribbon winner and my favorite, judges choice in a large fleece show in 2011? at MOPACA. Preacher's black comes from his maternal grand dam. Monet's mom Silver Elegance (aka Ella) also gave us a clear grey male this summer of 2019 from a breeding to our rose grey male Wrangler. Strong grey genetics in this girl but hoping to improve on density and crimp with the Preacher breeding. Monet x Preacher produced an amazing black male! Clone of Preacher. Since he is our first Preacher offspring his official name is JJA Preacher's Prologue (first part of the story). We were calling him The Pro but shortened it to T.P. for a tribute to 2020! We bred Monet to JJA Seriously Silver for a '21 cria. Should be a doozy! He is amazing and made it a no-brainer to repeat the breeding for a '22 cria. Check out Sargent. Update: Monet absorbed the pregnancy. Vet checked fine and I bred her to Polson to get him proven and make a grey or black Orlando Cloud great grandson. Before I could spit test, we had a breakout. Preacher was on her and she is confirmed pregnant due Sept 2, '23 for a repeat of her very first breeding resulting in a gorgeous black male.

Description

Can't get much cuter or silky soft here. Sarge's sire was born the wrong year to be able to get lots of ribbons. The few shows he went to he did well, 9 ribbons and only one was a 3rd place (at Nationals in a class of 11 mixed greys) the rest RCC, 1sts and 2nds. Sarges fleece is coming in really nicely. I think it is on the dam's side that has the cria having a very broad crimp their first half a year and then it gets crimpier. This is Seriously Silver's first cria but his granddam has had 2 from another stud that did this and his mom's from 2020 did the same thing. He has us dragging our feet on whether to show him because it. The staple, shine, fineness and density should outweight the crimp lacking but it never does in the ring. We'll just have to keep opening up that fleece weekly which I love anyway. Weaned, halter trained and BVDV free. I only had 3 boys this past summer so that makes it tough for having them sell with a barn mate. Unfortunately, Sarge developed black primaries in 2023 as a yearling and his testicular development is lacking. Can all improve but we are selling as an awesome fiber male as he has a stunning fleece once those primaries get carded out and he is sweet. We had a very cloudy, long winter here in N. Wisconsin so I'm guessing he will grow well now that the mass of fiber is off!
