4-Sight's Crawford

HuacayaHerdsire (Male)Medium Silver Grey

Crawford is a nicely built, beautiful, light to medium silver grey guy with a wonderful handle (speaking both of his fleece and disposition) He is the result of two champion parents. His sire, 15X champ RR Gun's Kit Carson is truly still producing some beautiful, award-winning offspring. His EPD's show him to be in the top 10% for uniformity. That uniformity in grey is especially amazing! If you research his pedigree, numerous are banner winners and recent top sellers at select auctions. Crawford was awarded a first place in walking fleece and a Reserve Championship in halter at the 2016 California Classic. Awarded over 23 other beautiful grey alpacas. We showed him as a mature breeding male and he took a 2nd place among some top grey breeders. Once again the judge commenting on the micron fineness, uniformity and handle of his fleece placing him above the others in the class. He just received a 1st place as a mature male in the AAWO spin-off. Come get your hands on this guy - seeing may be believing, but sometimes touching really seals the deal. Nice staple length, near solid color blanket and a great handle on this boy. Really fine and Uniform AFD 18.4 & 3.05 SD - two histograms in a row! A breeding male with over a 97% comfort factor and in grey! We also had a fleece industry expert evaluate him and they affirmed he has the qualities of what a breeding male should. Because he is steeped in grey genetics both sides of pedigree we anticipated that he would produce grey. His first cria was dark silver grey from a fawn dam without any grey. For 2018 he was 5 for 5 in grey - 3 silver 2 rose grey. In 2019 colors Crawford produced from him were rose & silver greys, true blacks and a bay black/maroon. His offspring at 2018 California Classic received a 1st place, the other a 2nd in both halter and walking fleece. Comments from the judge were nice fineness, staple length and density. Gold Country 2019, one of his son's took a 1st place in walking fleece. Comments from renown Judge Wini Labrecque that she had to look down at his legs for guard hair, rarely gives a score of 9 so gave him an 8.5. He received a very nice total score (pictured to right) Crawford is still holding commendable stats in fineness and uniformity as a breeding male of any color, so bring your best girls! Contact us today if you are interested in more information on Crawford. We now have offspring old enough to breed so can't wait to see what they produce for us.

Too cute for words

Zendaya from Zurich

HuacayaOpen (Female)Dark Fawn
AOA# 36016662DOB: 6/28/20195 yrs
This girl is still simply too cute for words! Born from a smaller mom & dad that have amazing fiber and coverage, we didn't expect to add much in size but this was a first birth for her mom. She is certainly a standout in the pasture and her fleece looks & feels fabulous and just keeps coming in. We don't mind if she takes her time growing. Though it would have been nice if we were able to attend shows with her. Zendaya's name means, to "give Thanks". For whatever reason the system had a glitch and we could not give her sire credit in the name. Oddest thing, we tried extra zz's in her name, and different variations. Finally it allowed the name from her dam, so Zendaya from Zurich there you are.. Yet, Aslan we know this mini-me is your daughter. Her parents are some of our favorites. We paired her with the light grey fine-fleeced "Crawford" and very happy with the outcome. She was a great first time mom to a beautiful rose grey boy that has a bright dense fleece with beautiful markings. We were so happy when he placed 2 in a large class amongst long time successful breeders. June 11, she gave birth to a vivacious boy by Majestic Armani. We anticipated a fawn color with Armani's parents both of that color but are super excited because his cria prior year had astounding fleece!

Description

Gorgeous guy! We bred this guy's dam and his granddam to the same fine-fleeced grey sire, 4-Sight's Crawford and we knew that if they each had the same sex we would have to make a judgement call on who to keep. Especially when as you would guess, they both had boys. We decided Zion may be a keeper though his more than half-brother in relation is absolutely stunning also. Zion's color appears rose grey mixed with silver at the skin. Absolutely love, love the color; a bright taupe, crimpy, fine fleece inside. While I intended to get a nice fleece shot on this guy - the fleece off of him was still pretty impressive. We decided to enter him in upcoming fall shows just to see what judges say. He handled surprisingly well. When we entered the ring for his halter we saw all the long time big breeders and were almost floored when we received a 2nd place above the others! Zion has nice conformation and was commended for having a long staple length. Since he was calm and cooperative on a halter the following weekend we used him for photo opportunities for a public event. He was naturally photogenic and really behaved quite amazing all day. We were hoping to keep him around to see if he continues to grow and develop well but honestly we have many of these similar genetics throughout our herd. Let us know if you are interested in more information on Zion.
