We often call this male Sir Duffington because he just has this way about him. He’s calm, cool and collected, but when he needs to settle the herd, he will. Duffy is a beautiful, true black male. He has great body confirmation and is super easy to handle. He is as dark as can be with full body coverage. A new histogram is needed to show how his fleece has matured, but he maintains staple length, color and fineness. We’ve had several of his blankets processed into yarn and other items and they all turn out beautifully. We receive so many comments on how black the yarn turns out and most can’t believe it’s all natural. We had a particularly nice pairing of him to one of our higher quality light fawn females and they produced a beautiful, true black female showcasing a teddy bear face.

Our sweet Peach Blossom was the start of our alpaca adventure! When we saw her name, I knew we had to have her. We purchased her as a yearling and 4 others and haven’t looked back since. She was my absolute favorite animal I’ve ever owned and we miss her every day. Before she passed she gave us one beautiful girl that is a spitting image of her, just in black! Raya is a tribute to her. Peach was a farm favorite and all our visitors loved to hand feed her as she would be the first to greet them.

Raya is special young female. She has been maturing very nicely and since birth has undeniably been a true black. She was a large, healthy baby, and has full face coverage. She has popular snowmass names on her maternal side like Satin Reserve and Andean Night. Raya has grown a lovely and lengthy first year blanket that is so silky soft. Behavior wise, she is exactly like her dam, so sweet and loves to give kisses. This is one girl we will probably never part with as she is the heart of our program. Sadly, we lost her mother, Peach Blossom, when Raya was 6 months old. Peach was the start of our alpaca adventure so we owe it to her to keep her little girl around forever. Raya is now bred to our new herdsire Talisman for a fall ‘26 cria and I’m expecting a dark baby with great density and super fluffy face! Hoping for a girl this time around! In spring ‘25 Raya had a beautiful true black boy with a super dense and cute face! We love our little Mesa!
