We recently acquired Stingray, and were blown away by his histogram for an almost 5 year old male (55 months) that is a brown appy! While he appears a solid color in the upper part of his blanket, you can see he inherited spots from his award-winning sire and has a spotted pattern on his belly, inside legs, and part of his lower shoulder. His fiber stats are impressive, and he is retaining fineness and uniformity as he further matures:
AFD=17.8, SD=4.3, CV=24.4 with a Comfort Factor of 99.2%
Stingray is full Peruvian bloodlines from the Jim Barker Sweet Briar Suri herd, and is the son of Tinker's Blade runner, a multi-champion true rose grey male from Tinker's Creek Alpacas. His sire, Blade Runner, completed his show career as the 2006 AOBA Nation Grey Male Color Champion, winning 4 Championships at the 4 largest shows in the world!!! His fleece is fine and lustrous with a defined uniformity to the lock. His density is above average and carries himself with pride and determination. His coloring is a True Med Rose Grey from the top of his ears to tail. His unique bloodline sets him apart from all the others with grand sires Condor and Hakeen he has the genetics to pass color from Fawn to Black and Grey. His sire is offspring of the nationally known herd sire Condor. His dam, Sweetbriar Suri Shiraz, is the dam of multiple champion - including the Futurity Champion - SBS Crown Prince Twist' N Shout. Shiraz captured Reserve Color Champion at the 2005 Northern Illinois Alpaca Show before retiring to the breeding barn. Stingray has produced a beautiful appy female cria, " Peaches & Cream", from a white dam with a long pedigree of white generations. Peaches is brilliant white with sizeable brown spots scattered through her fleece and is classified for shows as an appaloosa. This cria has incredible fineness, beautiful luster, and good density as well. Stingray is currently sire for our Champion female, WRSR Karina by Razor with a cria due in early June 2016.

Indi is now at our farm for the 2024 spring breeding season! Now is your time to take advantage of adding his spectacular genetics to your herd!! Give us a call to schedule your breeding. His stud fee includes 60 days board and ultrasound confirmation of pregnancy for your female. We can discuss alternate pricing for drive-by breedings!! **PROUDLY CO-OWNED WITH HEART & SOUL ALPACAS** We are very excited to announce our partnership with Heart and Soul Alpacas, as we team up with them to co-own Indi! He is a wonderful herd sire and is producing absolutely beautiful offspring with luster to burn! He is also throwing density, lock structure and great body conformation. After the birth of his male cria on our farm in 2022, we knew Indi was something special! Check out our boy Declaration by Independence, "Decker," for just a sample of what Indi can produce!! Shortly after Decker was born, Indi was awarded a Reserve Championship for his fleece...at 6 years old!!! This is what we strive for in our breeding program...long lasting positive fleece traits. We are proud to be bringing Indi on board at Honey Maple Farms in 2023! With the recent passing of Maxx Macgyver, Indi has some BIG shoes to fill in our breeding barn! We are looking forward to his contributions to our herd!! ________________________________________________________________ **AS DESCRIBED BY HEART AND SOUL ALPACAS** This young male has a lot going for him! He is a Judges Choice winner at one of the most prestigious shows in the country, The Suri Network and boasts 9 Championships and 26 blues, quite impressive! His most recent win was taking the national Reserve Championship at 6 years old!! We bred Indi's Dam to Aero Ranch's Auguste Piccard, one of the Last Inca sons still breeding, hoping to get exactly what we got... Indi! His luster is off the charts, his hand amazing, and his regrowth remarkable. We cannot say enough about this future herdsire. He has a remarkably soft handle! And even in the dustiness of late summer, he was still lustrous with amazing lock structure! He makes a great impression! SKIN BIOPSY RESULTS FROM ALPACA CONSULTING USA: Density: 61.3 /mm Secondary:Primary fiber ratio: 10.7:1 In-skin mean primary fiber diameter: 21.7µ Standard Deviation: 2.6 µ Range: 17.9 µ to 26.4 µ In-skin mean secondary fiber diameter: 18.2 µ Standard Deviation: 2.7 µ Range: 12.2 µ to 26.3 µ Comments: "Good density and excellent uniformity both between and within each fiber population. These are good numbers, especially for matings that are directed to establishing uniformity as a priority selection trait." -- Ian Watt

she is worth it!

Description

**Co-Owned with Wild Rose Suri Ranch** This large boned female is something else! Such a personality!! AND, she has pretty consistently produced appy offspring when paired to an appy male. We decided to go another direction with her for a 2025 cria, by pairing up with Indi!! This should produce some fantastic fleece and maybe a few spots too!! I don't like to sacrifice on fleece quality just to get spots, so if we happen to get a few spots on this cria AND some gorgeous fleece, we won't be disappointed!! (And it IS possible with Inca in Indi's pedigree!) Indi has the ability to improve on many fleece traits, especially since Peaches has some pretty nice fleece to start with...as she should, with Crown Royale in her pedigree! We think he will add density and lock structure to her offspring; she already has very nice luster and handle! This experiment will be exciting to see come next summer!!
