We are EXTREMELY happy to have acquired BRADFORD from Grazing Hills Alpacas! We have NEVER offered him for sale before because we like his genetics so well. This is your chance! Bradford is the half brother of our dearly departed Dirk. Both are sons of Accoyo-America DIOMEDES, who is now deceased. Diomedes imprinted his handsome head and his amazing fleece characteristics to these sons of his and for that reason we jumped at the chance to have another Diomedes boy on the farm! WITHOUT A DOUBT, THE DIOMEDES BLOODLINE HAS ABSOLUTELY CHANGED THE QUALITY OF OUR HERD. Bradford x Vanora = Kaeleigh: our first Bradford baby born on the farm June 2020. She's a beaut! Kaeleigh is so pretty we rebred Vanora to Bradford . . . and Kenzie . . . and Muireall . . . and Khloë! Three of those four have had their cria and they have GORGEOUS fleece! Many of our breedings will be to Bradford again. That's just how nice we think he is! Bradford has a beautiful head, nice bite, boxy conformation, wonderfully straight topline, super fleece characteristics. Handsome on all counts! He is an eager breeder, ready for action, and we are offering his drive-by breedings at $600. 2023 Expected Progeny Differences (EPD) results were ranked out of 30,965 males: TOP 5% for AFD, —1.947: likely to decrease fiber diameter in offspring TOP 17% SDAFD, —0.367: likely to decrease standard deviation in offspring TOP 5.4% SF, —1.92 likely to decrease spin fineness in offspring TOP 7.6% %F>30, —6.271: likely to decrease fibers over 30 micron in offspring TOP 17% MC, 2.974: likely to increase mean curvature in offspring Ranked 66% for %M, -0.049, likely to decrease medullation in offspring Ranked 49% for MSL, -.276, likely to decrease staple length in offspring Ranked 75% for FW, 0.02, likely to increase fleece weight slightly in offspring With results like this at 13 years old—that's what we call LINGERING FINENESS! You will see that we have used him with our girls A LOT: he has much to offer and he passes it down to the next generation! Is it fineness you need? Then bring your girls over, especially your coarser girls with longer staple. With this guy, it's hard to imagine you won't get a better-fleeced cria from a breeding to Bradford! Discounts for multiple breedings.

Stirling Ridge VALORIE

HuacayaOpen (Female)Beige
AOA# 35355960DOB: 7/27/20168 yrs
She will be bred to Golden Pines Antonio, a true black. Antonio has given us two cria, a light brown & a beige, out of WHITE mamas. We're hoping for dark! Valorie was bred to Flying Dutchman Alpacas Deacon Grey Silver BLADE (MSG) for a September 2023 cria. And on 9/14/2023 she presented us with a handsome bay black male cria with true black points (Blade's Blacksmythe). He's spunky and we think with his parentage and color he will make one fine future herdsire! Valorie has our best alpaca, Vanora, as her mama and the beautiful bay black Grazing Hills Ephraim as her sire. She was bred to gorgeous Grazing Hills Hezekiah and had her first cria June 2020. Now we've got those Running Late genetics on the farm, producing a gorgeous light fawn female, Joeleigh. Valorie is a very good mama, super laid back and calm. In 2022, she gave us JAXXON, one good-lookin' white male with gorgeous fleece. Valorie is just a doll: a calm, sweet little beauty with absolutely crimpy, GORGEOUS apricot fleece and LOTS of it. Her mom, Vanora, has sheared 9 LBS. of 19 micron fleece for us in the past and Ephraim sheared a 4 LB. blanket at 10 months, so we expected that Valorie would have a very fine, but heavy-weight fleece. And she hasn't proved us wrong! She shears one of the heaviest fleeces on the farm, while being a very fine fleece. In fact, she has ONE OF THE HEAVIEST FLEECES IN THE NATION! 16 micron at 3 years! 17 micron at 4 years! Amazing! You don't usually see the combination of a fine micron (top 8% in the nation) with a heavy fleece weight (top 1%)! Now at 7 years, she's in the top 7% for micron and in the top 1% for fleece weight!! INCREDIBLE GIRL! 2023 EPD results: TOP 7% AFD , value - 1.652, her cria will likely have a finer fleece Ranked 38% for SDAFD, value - 0.153, her cria will likely have a more uniform fiber diameter TOP 9% SF, value - 1.558, her cria will likely have a lower spin fineness Ranked 28% for %F>30, value - 3.776, her cria will likely have a lower % of fibers greater than 30 micron Ranked 65% for MC, value - 0.054, her cria will likely have a lesser frequency crimp than average SDMC, value +.348, assesses the uniformity of curvature Ranked 60% for %M, value -0.088, her cria will likely have lless % fiber medullation However, "the full impact of medullation remains a question at this point in time" (quote from Yocom-McColl Fiber Labs). TOP 3.6% MSL, value 3.372, her cria will likely have a longer staple length TOP 0.35% FW, value 1.157, her cria will likely have a more heavy fleece weight. In this characteristic she ranked 192 out of 54,995 animals in the EPD results! BW, value 0.143 her cria will likely be a bit heavier in birth weight

Description

Jaxxon is now 2 years. He's a very handsome lad a bit on the smaller side. Nevertheless, he's shearing quite a lot of VERY FINE & LONG (over 5") fleece. His parents have superb EPDs and his fleece looks and feels fantastic! We now have the stats to highlight why that fleece handles so well. We were 99% sure his EPD results would be superior, and WOO-HOO, look at them! His ranking percentile is out of 30,965 male alpacas. His 2023 histogram and EPD are in (see sidebar) and we are ecstatic! Here's what they predict for his cria: TOP 7% for AFD, —1.747: likely to decrease fiber diameter in offspring SDAFD, —0.169: likely to decrease standard deviation in offspring (ranked 43%) TOP 9.5% SF, —1.671 likely to decrease spin fineness in offspring TOP 21% %F>30, —4.935: likely to decrease fibers over 30 micron in offspring MC, 1.098: likely to increase mean curvature in offspring (ranked 43%) Ranked 86% for %M, +1.123, likely to increase medullation in offspring (Yocom-McColl says "the full impact of medullation in fleece remains a question at this point in time.") TOP 6% for MSL, +2.845: likely to increase staple length in offspring TOP 9.5% for FW, +0.64: likely to increase fleece weight in offspring What does that fine crimpy fleece (17.5 micron and 49.5 curve) with a long staple (5.15") and a heavy fleece weight add up to? DENSITY! Consider this guy as an up and coming herdsire. Nice boxy, straight and square conformation. Jaxx is halter-trained, loads in a trailer, and is a sweet-natured, nicely mannered fellow.
