We are EXTREMELY happy to have acquired BRADFORD from Grazing Hills Alpacas! We have NEVER offered him for sale before because we like his genetics so well. This is your chance! Bradford is the half brother of our dearly departed Dirk. Both are sons of Accoyo-America DIOMEDES, who is now deceased. Diomedes imprinted his handsome head and his amazing fleece characteristics to these sons of his and for that reason we jumped at the chance to have another Diomedes boy on the farm! WITHOUT A DOUBT, THE DIOMEDES BLOODLINE HAS ABSOLUTELY CHANGED THE QUALITY OF OUR HERD. Bradford x Vanora = Kaeleigh: our first Bradford baby born on the farm June 2020. She's a beaut! Kaeleigh is so pretty we rebred Vanora to Bradford . . . and Kenzie . . . and Muireall . . . and Khloë! Three of those four have had their cria and they have GORGEOUS fleece! Many of our breedings will be to Bradford again. That's just how nice we think he is! Bradford has a beautiful head, nice bite, boxy conformation, wonderfully straight topline, super fleece characteristics. Handsome on all counts! He is an eager breeder, ready for action, and we are offering his drive-by breedings at $600. 2023 Expected Progeny Differences (EPD) results were ranked out of 30,965 males: TOP 5% for AFD, —1.947: likely to decrease fiber diameter in offspring TOP 17% SDAFD, —0.367: likely to decrease standard deviation in offspring TOP 5.4% SF, —1.92 likely to decrease spin fineness in offspring TOP 7.6% %F>30, —6.271: likely to decrease fibers over 30 micron in offspring TOP 17% MC, 2.974: likely to increase mean curvature in offspring Ranked 66% for %M, -0.049, likely to decrease medullation in offspring Ranked 49% for MSL, -.276, likely to decrease staple length in offspring Ranked 75% for FW, 0.02, likely to increase fleece weight slightly in offspring With results like this at 13 years old—that's what we call LINGERING FINENESS! You will see that we have used him with our girls A LOT: he has much to offer and he passes it down to the next generation! Is it fineness you need? Then bring your girls over, especially your coarser girls with longer staple. With this guy, it's hard to imagine you won't get a better-fleeced cria from a breeding to Bradford! Discounts for multiple breedings.

Diomedes' VANORA of Stirling Ridge

AOA# 31414920DOB: 9/19/200816 yrs
Despite her age, we are hoping to breed Vanora to our new herdsire, true black Antonio in the spring of 2025 to see if she produces color! Vanora has been bred in the past to Grazing Hills Bradford and birthed a gorgeous girl in 2020 named Kaeleigh who just delivered her first medium brown baby, Baeleigh. They both have amazing fleece with the super inherited quality of lingering fineness. Kaeleigh was such a looker, we rebred Vanora to Bradford for a 2021 cria and she had a dandy gorgeous boy named Locksley you should consider for stud! Vanora was bred in 2022 tp J Creek Passion Encore, a medium brown stud with an amazing EPD! She delivered a little gal we've named Bonny Lass 2023. With Vanora's EPD combined with Encore's EPD, we figured this would be a baby with phenomenal fleece—and we are right on the money . . . Bonny's EPD is in the top 5% to 25% in 7 out of 9 fleece characteristics! LOOK at her latest EPD Report for 2023 (side bar)! Remember THIS GAL IS 15 YEARS OLD! What do all those 2023 EPD values mean for Vanora's cria? Top 14% in the nation! Avg Fiber Diameter (AFD) could decrease by -1.288, really good! Standard Deviation of AFD will decrease by -0.221, good! 28% in the nation! Top 12% in the nation! Spin Fineness (SF) could decrease by -1.408, excellent! Top 13% in the nation! % of Fibers > 30 micron could decrease by -5.379, amazing! Top 16% in the nation! Mean Curve (MC) of fiber could increase by 2.673, super! % Medullation (M) could decrease by -.995, (the full impact of medullation in fleece remains a question at this point in time.) Top 17% in the nation! Mean Staple Length (MSL) could increase by 1.359 Top 1% in the nation! Fleece Weight (FW) could increase by 1.193, INCREDIBLE! What the EPD says is that Vanora is an superb animal with really excellent fleece traits—and we see that she passes these traits to her cria. Vanora took the BLUE in her age group for the 2010 AOBA National Spin-Off. Her 2 year histogram shows why: 17.2 3.5 20.7 CF 100%, Curve 47. Her 3rd year clip was 9.25 lbs. of 20 micron blanket! Fine micron with a heavy shear weight adds up to density. Sometimes I have secretly wished she were a stud, but she produced her handsome son Locksley—a big, hulky, strutting stud you should consider using!

MR. HANDSOME!

Description

Here's an up and coming herdsire! He's a BIG boy. I mean HUGE. Beautifully conformed, beautiful fleece and lots of it! He's really shaping up nicely. This boy has presence. He hasn't been proven yet, but that day is not far off. I think he's ready to try! We will start him out at $400 breeding fee. What can I say? He's gorgeous! Locksley is sired by Bradford, our medium fawn stud with a stellar EPD. Locksley's dam is Vanora, one of our very best girls, also with a superb EPD, even at 15 years.. Both Bradford and Vanora have Accoyo America Diomedes genetics, and Locksley definitely has the good looks and the fleece that goes with those genetics. We now have his first 2023 histogram and EPD in hand (see sidebar) and we are very pleased! He is ranked among 30,965 males. Here's what the numbers project for his cria: TOP 18% for AFD, —1.289: likely to decrease fiber diameter in offspring SDAFD, —0.26: likely to decrease standard deviation in offspring (ranked 30%) TOP 18% SF, —1.306 likely to decrease spin fineness in offspring TOP 24% %F>30, —4.604: likely to decrease fibers over 30 micron in offspring MC, 2.077: likely to increase mean curvature in offspring (ranked 28%) Ranked 91% for %M, +1.727, likely to increase medullation in offspring (Yocom-McColl says "the full impact of medullation in fleece remains a question at this point in time.") TOP 17% for MSL, +1.355: likely to increase staple length in offspring TOP 12% for FW, +0.593: likely to increase fleece weight in offspring Combine that fine crimpy fleece (20.8 micron and 48.7 curve) with a long staple (4.6") and a heavy fleece weight and what do you get? Density! We will do a breeding soundness exam before he gets sent to your farm to make sure he can do his magic. Or send your girls here to him and let's get him started!
