Altitude is perhaps the closest thing we’ve achieve to his legendary grandsire, MMR Marcoyo. Marcoyo was one of a kind in the early 2000’s, siring many Supremes and Champions (including Futurity Champion, AOBA National Reserve Champion, and Judge’s Choice Qolmesa Peruvian Crystal). When we had the opportunity to buy a share in this beautiful male, we couldn’t refuse. Altitude as his grandson embodies several of Marcoyo’s great qualities giving him the potential to carry his legacy. Altitude inherited Marcoyo’s impressive frame, poised to develop into a massive and solid male. With the same highly defined crimp style, staple length, and impressive density, he is full of rolling skin on his neck. Combined with a pleasing fineness and handle, his bright fleece stands, so far, as one of my favourites within the 2023 cria crop. His *other* grandsire – on his paternal side – is even more special! Red Granites Val D’Lsère stands has one of the leading herdsires in the North American industry, which adds another great dimension to Altitude’s genetic makeup. Altitude started his breeding career in June 2025. No pressure young man: your name got called for our top 2022 female, Miss Aucean Tides du DNA! He has 4 confirmed by ultrasounds pregancies, our most used male in 2025 - that tells a lot!

Description

Snowmass Bethany Bells brings to the table traits that will complement the established strengths of our breeding program in the continuous goal of producing the best alpacas possible. Bethany Bells’ fleece exhibits extreme micron-adjusted uniformity, with longevity of fineness and consistency. Her first histogram showed a SD of 2.7 and only 0.02% of fibers over 30 microns, traits she reliably passes on to her progeny. She has a correct conformation on a compact and solid frame complemented by a gorgeous headstyle. She’s beautiful! Her pedigree is a "who's who" of heavy hitters. Maternally, Bethany Bells is the granddaughter of Snowmass Best Man. Other notable names in her lineage include Snowmass Royal Challanger, Snowmass Sub-Zero, Snowmass Accoyocusani, and Snowmass Elite Transcendence (son of Snowmass Elite Legend, exported to Australia). Bethany Bells was extremely nervous when she first got to our farm, but after months of patiently working with her, I have gained her trust. She is now halter trained, calm and very curious. As a reward for all that work, she produced a super friendly and mellow daughter in 2025, Miss Armonic Bells du DNA. She is now bred to Noble Altitude du DNA for a 2026 cria, which will add another great dimension to her packed pedigree, adding the genetics of Red Granites Val d’Lsere and Canadian bloodlines.
