Polson is looking very awesome. His sire Cloud Pleaser was one of Orlando Cloud's first offspring. Polson also has other noteworthy relatives such as CPeruvian Silvio & Fire N' Ice. His dam Cahlua was one of our most solid Adonis females ever. After seeing the 2 cria he helped create this summer of 2024, we bred him to as many as we could. He made a medium silver grey female out of a lsg and improved on density, crimp and bone. His 2nd one is a TB out of a DB with black tips. Improved on fineness, density (hugely), crimp & amplitude, staple length. 2025 will be so exciting to see if he keeps up the grey and black offspring!

Evangeline's name means Good News and she was indeed! Her fiber stats are a replica of Darby who has done fantastic in the show ring including 1st at Nationals in halter 2017. Darby just possesses slightly more density. This girl is darker with the same fineness! Maybe by September she will reach the size I think will be her final and then she will be bred to Impeccable or a son of his. Her Sire Seismic is a Black Jag son who competed against his half brother Jacob Black (Irish Meadows) who is an undefeated TB and doesn't do outside breedings. Seismic is available to everybody who would love a TB-he has only made TB up until now but she is the darkest offspring dam has ever had including being bred to black before. Outstanding fleece and conformation at a year old now. See her stats. Evy has the possibility to make any color from white to grey and all in between. Check out her ARI which has been downloaded here. Her dam Benita hasn't aged outwardly at all. Her 13 yr old self looks like she did when she arrived here as a 4/5 yr old. She spits out babies without trouble and Evy was actually a big surprise. For the first time in our 11 year history, we could not tell if Benita was pregnant or not(there was a break out but we didn't see who had gotten nailed). The vet couldn't even tell for sure two days before the birthing. Benita not only is a great production female, she has maintained her fineness as well. Evy birthed a male cria on 9/11/18. Impeccable's Halo is the sire and did a shade darker than Evy-a handsome maroon. 2020 we bred Evy to JJA Adonis' Dozer. Dozer is a Legacy Grandson and stamps that famous crimp on his offspring. He has only bred to a few and this year is a new girl for him-tough to get him a girl that is dark and not related. Hoping for her superfineness to have that crimp and density added. Should be the perfect combo. Dozer made Darby (see above) and Dynamite another female that did very well in her spring shows before selling at 1 yr. Evy and Dozer created a SUPERB Dozer replica in a female form. His 3rd female (no males) and such a clone we named her Dozer's Deja Vu. We repeated that breeding for a 2022 cria. 2022 Cria update: Both Grandma's of cria are fawn so we got a MF male that is tall like his sire and those beautiful, elegantly tall dams. His fleece looks amazing. Evy had a year off and then was bred to Polson. We haven't confirmed the pregnancy. We should be able to tell in another couple months. Evy had one of her best cria yet. A true black male from Polson. He reminds me so much of his great grandpa Royal Adonis who got us started in blacks! So sweet and extremely fine dense fleece that earned him 8 championships and 13 blues back when it was common to have 15 in a class! Of course, we bred her back to him. We are selling her daughter Deja Vue who will probably make a gorgeous grey cria from Primus next year 2025. I'm just planning ahead for herd size.

Description

Spero's great grandsire was the first born male that we owned JJA Royal Adonis (Royal fawn lines sires side and Black Magic lines on maternal side). I'll never forget how after our barn was finally ready for our new mom and her son to be delivered, the prior owner brought them here and carried Adonis to me. Before putting him into my arms he said, "if this was a female, I would not be letting you have him". He knew he was going to be special. The wife said he was the softest cria she'd felt and he was black! He was also extremely dense with amazing staple length. Huge bone and a great mellow personality which he put on his cria. Look up Adoni's show record and many offspring. He specialized in making black and grey from those dam colors but one of my favorites was our white girl Capri who took on her maternal Grandma's (Avalon's girl PPPeruvian Sonoma-maker of many champions). It seemed to be a fluke so I bred them again and got another terrific white but a male. He sold quickly. Spero seems to embody Adonis who really put us on the map in the midwest for the dark breeding program. Spero was born late in the season so he may not show well but I just have a feeling about him. He is perfectly straight conformationally, fine bundles of very consistent fleece. Can't see his skin line...His sire Polson will be here for awhile continueing the Royal lines AND Orlando Cloud. Speros had to be put down after a compound fracture between his stifle and hock from slipping on our field of ice. Not even 4 mths old and so much potential/hope. Numerous things coincided for it not to be possible to try and safe him and the leg. Another season/time I would have made it happen. My heart aches.
