He is placed at #11 & #10 out of over 29,000 male huacaya for improving AFD & SF. He also is holding his fineness as has ancestry for several generation. In addition to his top of the chart fineness he is still adding significant fleece weight to his offspring! That's how you know he's adding density. He also is 1.8% for improving SD and 1% for reducing fibers under 30 and 1% for reducing Medullation He is also #65 out of 29000 for improving Curve <1%. His relaxed, unstretched staple measures shorter than average....Because it's way crimpier than average! I would guess there are at least a few girls he could improve on.

Description

Details Eirwen is the daughter of our multiple champion black herdsire, Dark Secret, who has sired many greys and black offspring (including out multiple champion Black Maelstrom). So, whereas we had hoped Eirwen would be black (as her dam has produced black before), we are still hopeful that Eirwen can produce black (with her dark lips and nose in evidence that she carries some dark genetics). Eirwen's dam is our Song, a foundation girl in our herd. Her half-sister Danica produces babies that 'knock it out of the park' every time. Her first girl, Isolde, a dark fawn by Stradivarius, has lovely fiber but didn't make our show string as a juvenile (we run a small string) -- in favor of her MB cousin, Oraine, daughter of Danica, who later sold in the Amber Autumn Auction that year. But as a yearling Isolde was sold in The Futurity auction.
