MULTI CHAMP GREY!!!

Plum Creek's Taji

HuacayaHerdsire (Male)Medium Rose Grey
AOA# 36088973, CLAA# 50015DOB: 5/15/20195 yrs
GENOTYPE: Ee a1a2 Classic Grey We are so thrilled to have added this fantastic new classic grey male to our lineup! Plum Creek’s Taji made its way to Canada mid-summer 2022 and we are expecting his first offspring in 2023. Taji’s typey conformation, solid square frame and superior fleece qualities are everything we look for in a classic grey herdsire and he will certainly be a great successor to Wingman, our Bomber son, who is now back in the US. Taji is one of only 2 registered classic grey son sired by Bellarmine (ATV Adonnis)…the other one being Crescent Moon’s Emmaus! Taji’s MSG dam, Estates Yanni, has retained beautiful fineness and uniformity with age (4th fleece: 18.8 | 3.9 | 1.2% >30 | MC 47.4). No surprises here as she comes from prominent grey lineage in NS Magic Flight (Snowmass Enlightenment) and more great lineage in Patagonia’s Ernesto (Patagonia’s Lennox). Being the product of excellent bloodlines, it's no surprise that Taji has done extremely well in both halter and fleece shows and that his fiber stats are simply delightful! We cannot wait to start creating our next generation of awesome greys with this boy! Taji will remain exclusive for 2022 and will be opened to outside breedings in 2023. We wish to thank Brian and Valerie from Plum Creek Alpacas for allowing us to bring Taji into our program! UPDATE: Taji's first two crias in Canada both win Grey Colour Champion at their first halter show! The judge had very similar comments for both juvies pointing out a great combination of positive fleece traits and confirmation traits. Both juvies displayed a high degree of organization thanks to incredible fineness and uniformity of micron combined to above average follicular density; a combination that is more rarely found in classic grey! We are absolutely thrilled with these results and comments and we look forward to many more offspring from this amazing male!

Sutton's Firefly

HuacayaBred (Female)Light Fawn
AOA# 36006021, CLAA# 49070DOB: 6/20/20195 yrs
GENOTYPE: ee a2a3 Non-Grey This gorgeous little female already displays amazing fleece and we could tell as soon as she was born that this one would be special! She was registered light fawn but after looking closer at her first fleece, we can confidently say she's rosegrey. Her classic DSG dam is one of our best grey female who displays amazing fineness, staple length and uniformity. Fiona has done very well in the show ring and is half-sister to 5 time Supreme Champion (Judge Choice) Zotz de Charlevoix. Firefly's grey AOA fleece champion sire Arriba Adonis was a very light fawn at birth but turned out to be grey! She does look light fawn on the outside but clearly has 2 colors of secondaries which is typical of the roaning gene. She might never show in grey but we will see how her fleece does when entered in the light category. She might loose a few points on uniformity of color but we feel confident that her fleece is up to par with actual solid light colored alpacas despite being the product of 2 grey parents! Firefly truly does have an amazing fleece and great conformation and will be an integral part of our grey breeding program for years to come. We look forward to many outstanding crias from this female! UPDATE: Firefly's fleece scored an amazing 81 points at the Alpaga Quebec 2020 Fleece Show!! Facing stiff competition in the Light class, she came in 2nd of her age class and 3rd overall (out of 12 Light entries) just a few points short of Champion and Reserve Champion who both scored 83.5! We are so delighted with these results, especially for a girl that is the product of a classic silver dam and a modern sire! Fleece Judge Comments: Excellent uniformity of micron and density. Very soft handle and very bright fleece!

Description

GENOTYPE PENDING Expected genotype: eeaa | Classic Grey Well this is probably one of the cutest cria we have ever produced! This little gem of a female is absolutely stunning and we could tell from the moment she was born that she had that "je ne sais quoi"! No surprises here as her pedigree is packed with multi-champions in both solid colours as well as in roan and classic grey. This female is the result of powerhouse genetics, combining some of the most prominent greys in North America. Her multi-champion MRG sire, Plum Creek's Taji, is one of only 2 registered classic grey son sired by Bellarmine (ATV Adonnis)…the other one being Crescent Moon’s Emmaus! Her paternal grand-dam, Estates Yanni combines NS Magic Flight (Snowmass Enlightenment) lineage with some exquisite solid-coloured subjects from the Patagonia program. Her maternal side includes Amber Autumn's Natiqua who has produced many champions as well as Arriba Adonis, who has also produced many champions in every colour and who has, himself, won Judge's Choice, 3 Spinner's Choice Awards and several Grey Championships including the AOA 2015 National Fleece Show. On top of her very appealing headstyle, Fly High packs an amazing amount of fibre on her well-balanced, compact frame. She has above average density and a high frequency crimp style to her very fine and uniform fleece. This certainly creates a beautiful handle and a great degree of bightness which can be seen in picture. To top it all off, we actually expect her to be a fully dilute classic grey as she does carry darker primairies which is typical to lighter animals carrying the classic pattern. Although we were hoping for a darker colour outcome, Fly High will be part of our 2025 show crew. Even though light coloured alpacas are not our speciality, we are confident that this little one will be able to compete with the best ones out there!
