AutumnSun's Artorius

HuacayaHerdsire (Male)Medium Silver Grey
AOA# 35160311DOB: 7/29/20196 yrs
AutumnSun's Artorius is fantastic male, not surprising as he is sired by multiple champion Red Granite's Royal Brutus out of our Bea-2 Bomber daughter AutumnSun's Merida. He looks so much like his sire that he sometimes is mistakeningly called by that name on our farm. He is incredibly dense, long stapled, and organized into zipper crimp. As he has gotten older, his fiber continues to impress us. In his 3 year old class at the 2023 AOA National Halter Show, the first place went on to be champion. But the judge said to the audience of Artorius that he had a beautiful fleece and to put your hands on him to see an example of what zipper crimp should look like! This fleece went on to win Reserve Champion in the Grey males at the 2023 AOA National Fleece Show! **Available for sale only with the sale of the entire grey and 'fancy' (anything with a white spot gene on our farm) program. **

AutumnSun's Perfect Harmony

HuacayaBred (Female)White, Medium Brown
AOA# 36187645DOB: 8/21/20214 yrs
Pretty girl with lovely looks! Harmony has been a sweet heart with eye catching looks. She is upright and easy moving on a balanced frame to give her an all over well confirmed look. Her fiber is nicely crimpy and dense with soft handle, warm brightness, and good staple length. Her first cria by Artorius is lovely white girl with grey genetics! The fiber on this girl is white elite, so we are contemplating trying her with our black herdsires when she matures. She is bred to our champion producing Axios, who is the son of Irish Meadows Shades of Grey. Axios has made modern grey (roan) from modern grey (roan) dams and classic grey from classic dams. **Available for sale with the sale of the entire grey and 'fancy' (anything with a white spot gene on our farm) program. ** See packages for discount.

Description

So, this is interesting. Born from a classic rose grey sire (who was EE aa) out of partially dilute black (Ee aa) phenotypical dark fawn with a white forehead spot, Wanda is pure white. On top of that, she color-typed as a EE aa! Then, take into account that she has white eyes (with no hearing loss), definitely proving that a white spot gene is present. Is this a case of a grey with a really big white spot (a play on the tongue-in-cheek statement when a white is born from two greys)? It seems Wanda is a grey dressed in all white. She has spectacular fleece and hopefully will do well within a grey program. She is a healthy girl with spectacular fleece and will produce well. So, we thought about if she was 'grey enough' in her potential despite her genetics and for right now have left her off the grey package listings. However, that's okay because her killer, 'white elite' fiber would do nicely combined with our black program. Bred right and this could be a beautiful thing!
