We have decided to offer Smokin Gun for sale. We have his Sire, Dam, sons, this years cria on the way, we want to use his Sire OTT, more this year, so he would be benched for the season. He deserves to be added to another breeding program, that can benefit from his extraordinary traits. What a pleasant surprise when this guy popped out, we were expecting color but not this dark! From day one the quality in this boy was evident, he was small (14 lbs) but mighty. His fleece brightness, tight curls all over and density was impressive. He is line bred with both Foundation and Ascott showing up twice in the pedigree. Smokin Gun was caught out in a terrible storm at about a week old, and got really sick but through perseverance and will power and mega doses of vitamin D3 and vit. C, electrolytes plus and B12 he pulled through. It was around a 2 month + recovery period. But he is a fighter and made it through. His dam Birchleaf Foundations Kanita is our Pride and Joy and has proven her quality time and time again with Championships in both fleece and showring until 3 years old when we retired her after winning Supreme Alpaca at the BIG SHOW - CNASF 2019. His Grand Dam Sunita, was a powerhouse in the showring also, winning multiple Championships in both fleece and in the Showring. His Sire is also a multi Champion in both and is a beast of a male Sired by the outstanding Producer MFI & TNT Peruvian Foundation son of Jeremiah. His advancement of fleece characteristics from ears to knees, with consistency of lock structure and lack of primaries, is our next step to 1 bag shearing :) This Macho has basically no guard hair. We are really excited to see his cria in the spring of 2024. 2024 Total Shear weight 13.8 lbs - 6.14 lb blanket 2023 Shear weight 12.4 lbs. - 4.9 lb show blanket. 2022 shear weight 10.7 lbs.

Jayda is a very eye-catching female that still looks 1/2 her age, she has a nice head, correct conformation and nice color in her pedigree. Her Sire BL Nomad was a steel grey color and won championships in fleece and Show ring including GR. Champion at the CNASF. His sire is Snowmass Braveheart and, his Sire the great Peruvian Hemingway. After that there is a lot of color, with RFA Turk, Shilo Brew "twice" (Lady Shilo in the US), The Avenger, Black Bess, with a couple more greys, Macbeth, Chilean Lover. She would be great for someone getting into blacks, as she throws black from black sires, and threw a bay black female from a white sire. Good to add to black genetics, or for the starter breeder that want quality in black. She is the ultimate female for a dark color program and would more than pay for herself with her first cria. We will be trying Jayda to Smokin Gun in the spring of 2024. Jayda is Pregnant :)

Description

Scrappy was born at 9lbs, I feel it had alot to do with his mothers age and her not being bred for a number of years. He was only about a week old when had an object pierce the membrane of his eye. We treated him for a couple weeks a couple times a day until it healed up. He still has a white spot near the middle, that might not ever disappear but seems to see well out of it. When we released him with the other older much larger cria, it took him a couple day and he was wrestling with the 30 pounders, many times instigating it. This is when he was given the name Scrappy. He was born with a silky fleece, a throw back to the Hemingway offspring style, so were are watching closely to see how it progresses. Really unsure what his final color will be, as his dark fibre seems to have a fair amount of white fibres.
