Lord Tennyson has it all, wonderful bloodlines – Bueno, Caligula, El Patron, The Silversmith; incredible fleece – brilliant white, tight, crimpy bundles; good size and conformation; and incredible presence. Tennyson has inherited the great fleece shearing weight of his sire Lord Byron, like his sire Tennyson shears around 10 pounds. In addition to all these wonderful characteristics, Tennyson is a gentle boy with an incredible sense of presence about him. At the 2009 VAOBA Expo Fleece Show, he was awarded the Reserve Color Championship. Earlier that year, he won First in the light class of the Virginia Classic Walking Fleece Fiber Futurity for the second time in a row. In 2008 he won as the youngest in the class at exactly 6 months of age (and went on to win Best in Futurity), and next year as the oldest in the class, just one day shy of 18 months. He continues to do well in regional and national shows. Lord Tennyson’s first crias hit the ground in 2011, and they are incredible. Tennyson’s Milton has lovely fleece, conformation, and that sense of presence that hints at great things to come. Tennyson’s Becket has all that in fawn, and Timbuctoo has incredible fiber and one of the sweetest faces I’ve ever seen. In 2012, we welcomed Lady Clare (and an almost identical beauty who was born off the farm) and Sir Galahad in the spring and Tennyson’s Arthur and White Owl in the fall. They offer additional proof that Tennyson is producing consistently dense, bright and conformationally correct offspring. You can see his stamp in their adorable ‘teddy bear’ faces and fleece. We were very pleased when Tennyson won First in the 2013 VA Classic Get of Sire. At the same show, Sir Galahad repeated Tennyson's success in the Walking Fleece competition, winning First and Champion. Consider the benefits of adding Lord Tennyson’s great genetics to your herd. Dam: Peaceful Heart's Henrietta Ruth

Peaceful Heart's Henrietta Ruth

HuacayaOpen (Female)Dark Brown
AOA# 31076357DOB: 10/4/200717 yrs
Henrietta Ruth, "Ruthie", has grown into a true beauty who has been a great foundation for our herd. Both her sire and dam are known for their fine fiber, you can see from her fiber stats that she has maintained that fineness as well. She ranks in the top 3-7% of all fiber traits related to fineness in the ARI EPD program. Ruthie's first breeding produced a spectacular little girl with golden fleece in June 2010. Ruthie had such an easy delivery, that she kept eating during labor right up until her little girl was born. She is an attentive mother, and her little one, June Delight, was active and nursing well immediately. June is following in her mom's footsteps, delivering her first cria (a girl) in 2013 who had AFD 14.6 in her first shearing, and a beautiful boy in 2014. We bred Ruthie to our Champion herdsire Lord Tennyson, and were thrilled with their boy, Tennyson's Becket, in June 2011. He has unbelievable presence and has the incredible fleece, conformation, and beautiful head to support the attitude. We were so impressed that we repeated the breeding for a 2012 cria. Tennyson's Arthur looks just like his big brother, and sold quickly. We bred Ruthie to one of our newest herdsires, two time champion Maximus for a fall 2013 cria. They produced a gorgeous little girl, Gillian, who looks a lot like her true black sire. In 2014, Ruthie gave us a true black male, Polar Night, out of fawn champion Polar Ice. Ruthie sells with a breeding and would breed with any of our Champion herdsires for a great cria. Talk with us to decide which would be the right combination for your farm's goals.

Description

Tennyson's Becket hit the ground apparently knowing that he is one impressive boy. He walks around the pasture with a sense that he knows he is a special alpaca. The product of a breeding between our Reserve Color Champion Lord Tennyson and our dark beauty Henrietta Ruth, Becket was born with beautiful, dense fleece in an incredibly consistent color from toes to nose. The most impressive feature displayed in Becket, though, is not his perfect conformation, beautiful head, or regal manner, it is his fleece. Becket ranks in the Top 8% of of the ARI EPD program for Average Fiber Diameter (AFD), Standard Deviation of AFD, and Spin Fineness, and Top 13% in Fibers under 30 Microns. Becket is showing the incredible density of his sire, with deeply crimped bundles, and the fabulous fineness of both his parents, with a fleece you just want to sink your hands in as you give this boy a hug. Right now, Peaceful Heart Alpacas is offering further discounts for the purchase of multiple males alpacas. All our boys are now available for $1,000 each, 2 for $1,500, 3 for $1,800, or 4 for $2,000. Herdsire quality males at pet quality prices. Click here for a printable list of our boys for sale.
