Deja Blue's Caramello is wholly owned by Linda Cormier of LSC Alpacas in Montgomery, New York. He's presented here for sale exclusively by agent, Wren Owens via The Secret Meadow of Close-Knit Alpacas. Caramello is a strong boned macho with excellent form and correct conformation. Caramello is covered from the top of his head all the way down to his toes with rich "maroon" medium brown fleece laced with vicuna light fawn markings on the inner/under side...simply striking. His fleece is fine and has quite nice character. This boy has an incredible background of grey genetics. Let's take a close look: Caramello's sire is Snowmass Casanova's Deja Blue, a gorgeous silver grey and HIS sire, Casanova, needs no introduction. Caramello's dam is a daughter of The Silversmith, another great grey herd sire. Caramello took a third place ribbon as a juvi in full fleece, and Linda explains, "We have not shown him ourselves. We are told that the judge remarked on his needing to fill out more being a younger boy in the class. So he has turned his focus on the ladies instead of the ribbons. In the mean time he has filled out quite nicely." Caramello carries himself with great presence, always upright and alert. We would recommend Caramello to be used with females that need to improve form, size, and fineness in colored fleeces. Caramello gets the job done the first time every time. His first cria hit the ground running in spring 2010, and they are outstanding. He will love a chance to help you out with your special dams. Casanova passed down his "way with the ladies" to this macho. Caramello is up to date on all shots and is regularly wormed and BVD free. He's also available for inspection, so please give me, Wren, a call to set up a date and time to do that. You'll be so glad you did! DEWEY MEADOWS PICABO

HuacayaOpen (Female)Medium Brown
AOA# 817061DOB: 11/7/199925 yrs
Picabo (pronounced "Peek a boo"...it's true!) is owned by Linda Cormier of LSC Alpacas and she's offered via The Secret Meadow of Close-Knit Alpacas. Picabo is one of those ideal foundation dams, known to be "an easy keeper." Foundation dams are not often made available for sale, as breeders like to hold onto them FOREVER. Circumstances (including a new baby on the way for Linda) dictate that Picabo find a new herd to serve as "lead dam"...or for sure a position at the top of the order. "Picabo is extremely easy to handle," reveals Linda. Picabo's qualities as a production dam? Linda states, "Behavior testing always works (Picabo communicates very clearly)," and she births easily, always has plenty of milk, is a great mom, and an easy breeder. She recently delivered her 2011 cria (7/24/11)...a very dark - black or dark silver grey - with a wee bit of white on him around his face and head area. Of course, he sells with his dam and at her side in this offering. "She is a bit of a loner," says Linda, "but I believe she thinks she is 'above' the rest. She has a 'more noble than thou' attitude." Picabo is a special lady and makes a most wonderful foundation cornerstone. Linda tells me Picabo has been "Truly a blessing, as she produces progeny all worthy of winning ribbons. Picabo always puts forth her best and incorporates the best attributes of the service sire to create most wonderful offspring." Every one of her shown progeny have taken 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place ribbons! Picabo has fine, rich colored fleece that exhibits high frequency but very low amplitude crimp. Picabo's sire is a rare black and white appaloosa, and he passed a few of his black spots into her blanket. These spots have turned grey over the last few years. "Since Picabo does have silver grey in her ancestry I believe they are coming down from there," offers Linda. Picabo's dam is a beige & fawn appaloosa and ALSO the dam of Hilltops Chelsea, whom some might remember is another awesome producer of ribbon-winning progeny. Linda suggests, "Try breeding to a fancy gray and see if you can pull the appaloosa out of her!" Picabo is a dream! Now you can make her yours! www.The-Secret-Meadow.com

Description

Ace of Spades ("Asa") is owned by Linda Cormier of LSC Alpacas of central New York, and she's offered here for sale exclusively via The Secret Meadow of Close-Knit Alpacas. If you're looking for black, here's your girl! Asa's color is deep and dark, and has a beautiful sheen and true black color. "Asa is a playful sweet girl," says Linda, "with gorgeous fine black lustrous fleece." She appears on the surface to be perhaps a bay black but below that outer layer she shows true black, along with two small grey spots - one on her neck and one in her blanket, plus two brown spots - one on her neck and one on the base of her right ear. Linda states, "I'm wondering if she may well be turning into a dark rose grey." Those animals do tend to develop over the course of three years or so...it will be interesting to see how she turns out, but considering her genetics, a grey presentation would not be a surprise. Asa is a very tall girl with correct conformation and nice proportions. At seven months old she was near the size of her 2 year old sister, Sunny! Asa is ready to go to find new friends at your farm. "Asa has been on halter but needs a little more encouragement," Linda says, "to walk well on lead. Winter weather put off this training but she is intelligent and curious so she will pick up quickly. Asa stands well and needs not to be held for shots." Asa's complete health records are available upon request. She is BVD free and regularly wormed and inoculated. Make Asa a part of your colorful alpaca herd ASAP! Remember, you can Make an Offer Monday! Who knows? Your offer might be just what Linda is looking for, and the perfect thing to ensure Asa gets to go off into the world and to a quality foundation herd of her own as a young maiden.
