4-Sight's Crawford

HuacayaHerdsire (Male)Medium Silver Grey
AOA# 31777018DOB: 6/9/20159 yrs
Crawford is a nicely built, beautiful, light to medium silver grey guy with a wonderful handle (speaking both of his fleece and disposition) He is the result of two champion parents. His sire, 15X champ RR Gun's Kit Carson is truly still producing some beautiful, award-winning offspring. His EPD's show him to be in the top 10% for uniformity. That uniformity in grey is especially amazing! If you research his pedigree, numerous are banner winners and recent top sellers at select auctions. Crawford was awarded a first place in walking fleece and a Reserve Championship in halter at the 2016 California Classic. Awarded over 23 other beautiful grey alpacas. We showed him as a mature breeding male and he took a 2nd place among some top grey breeders. Once again the judge commenting on the micron fineness, uniformity and handle of his fleece placing him above the others in the class. He just received a 1st place as a mature male in the AAWO spin-off. Come get your hands on this guy - seeing may be believing, but sometimes touching really seals the deal. Nice staple length, near solid color blanket and a great handle on this boy. Really fine and Uniform AFD 18.4 & 3.05 SD - two histograms in a row! A breeding male with over a 97% comfort factor and in grey! We also had a fleece industry expert evaluate him and they affirmed he has the qualities of what a breeding male should. Because he is steeped in grey genetics both sides of pedigree we anticipated that he would produce grey. His first cria was dark silver grey from a fawn dam without any grey. For 2018 he was 5 for 5 in grey - 3 silver 2 rose grey. In 2019 colors Crawford produced from him were rose & silver greys, true blacks and a bay black/maroon. His offspring at 2018 California Classic received a 1st place, the other a 2nd in both halter and walking fleece. Comments from the judge were nice fineness, staple length and density. Gold Country 2019, one of his son's took a 1st place in walking fleece. Comments from renown Judge Wini Labrecque that she had to look down at his legs for guard hair, rarely gives a score of 9 so gave him an 8.5. He received a very nice total score (pictured to right) Crawford is still holding commendable stats in fineness and uniformity as a breeding male of any color, so bring your best girls! Contact us today if you are interested in more information on Crawford. We now have offspring old enough to breed so can't wait to see what they produce for us.

Dancing Elk's Juliet

HuacayaOpen (Female)Medium Rose Grey
AOA# 35494898DOB: 8/9/20177 yrs
When you casually stroll through show grounds at the Nationals and happen to come across the sweetest guy ever named Romeo. Then later are told they did a repeat breed and are hoping for a Juliet. Not only does that happen, but they both come all the way from Montana to join our herd. Juliet in her cria fleece, just wow! At her first show in Denver the halter judge singled her out to check her color in the grey class and said she is a roan color and was in the right class. She noted her conformation and good substance of bone. In walking fleece she received a maximum score in uniformity of color & length, a 7 of 10 in brightness and 7.5 of 10 in uniformity of micron and above average density. Not bad considering her coloring. From that black dam to fawn sire it sometimes throws that unique roan coloring and they did it twice. Both Romeo and Juliet have the similar rare color along with the cute and friendly factor. One thing for sure, we will be forever grateful to Dancing Elk for entrusting us with their treasures. We sold Juliet's 9 pound fleece and hope the purchaser is happy with whatever is made from it. Juliet bred to fine uniform fleeced guy, 4-Sight's Crawford & delivered a 19 pound, absolutely stunning silver grey girl! What a keeper (both her mom and the baby)! Needless to say, we did a repeat breed another robust nice and sturdy dark brown girl. She had tons of fleece and such a cute, friendly disposition that she sold quick. Recently Juliet delivered her third female by Granite Bay's Blue Silver. She was one of those up, walking and nursing extremely quick !

Description

We loved what Juliet and Crawford produced so much that we did a repeat breed. Super happy to have a nice robust, girl born. We are not positive on her coloring, she looks brown but her dam is a true roan (showed as rose grey) and I suspect with her silver grey sire, that will happen with her. She is growing fast and so is her fleece. Although we wouldn't mind keeping her for our foundation, we have her older full sister. So, she is available for sale. Contact us soon. This is the first female huacaya offspring we have offered for sale in awhile and she is the ONLY on the ranch. Juniper has a friendly disposition, just the right kind of temperament but with her conformation and potential for producing grey, she should go to a breeding home, not just be a pet. She can not leave the ranch until December, but that will be here before we know it.
