Can we just say up front that has to be one of the worst show photos ever? The young fella is nobody's fool but we love him nonetheless! Privateer was one of the first crias born here ever sired by Spirit Wind’s Maestro, our fawn 2014 Futurity Champion Herdsire and his arrival did nothing to dampen our enthusiasm for his dad. Of course Privateer’s depth of quality comes in equal measure from his dam, CCNF Nutmeg of Consolation, the most decorated alpaca in our program’s history (halter and fleece), she being a daughter of SHRA Virtual’s Reality and the mighty Snowmass Legacy Gold himself, both of them original CCNF foundational animals whose lines still play key roles throughout our herd. As one would assume – correctly – the result is a typey little male with a dense, fine, and uniform fleece that glistens with brightness. Tragically, we lost Maestro in May of 2018 leaving Privateer as his only working son. In the absence of his sire and with the second crop of Elixir/Majesty cross females reaching sexual maturity last year, Privateer got to show us what he could do in the summer of 2020. Those crias will likely make their show debuts in 2021. Meanwhile we are pleased to now offer Privateer for outside stud service at an introductory rate of $2,500.

Ready for something a little different? We are proud to present CCNF Jocelyn as lot #3 at the upcoming Parade of Champions Auction to be held at Little Creek Farm in North Salem, NY on June 2nd and 3rd! Like our other entry at the POC (CCNF Bellatrix, lot #27), Jocelyn represents something new for us, as she is the first ever daughter of our Herdsire, CCNF Privateer, whom we have ever offered for sale! Privateer is the only working son of Futurity Champion Spirit Wind's Maestro, and based upon his early returns, he stands to play a vital role in our breeding program in the years to come. Privateer's dam (Jocelyn's paternal grandam) was our beloved, CCNF Nutmeg of Consolation, the daughter of Snowmass Legacy Gold and SHRA Virtual's Reality, giving Jocelyn a genuinely unique genetic profile, not widely found elsewhere here in the USA. On her maternal side, Jocelyn draws from both the Elixir (3x Futurity Herdsire of the Year) line as well as -- and just as importantly -- our highly coveted Marguerite/Margaux maternal line, all via her dam, CCNF Juneaux. What's the big deal you ask? Jocelyn's maternal grandam, CCNF Marguerite, is one of the few remaining CCNF Royal Ring of Fire daughters we have working in our program, and as such she is the granddaughter of our long departed but never forgotten import, 5Peruvian Margarita. They are among the genetics that both make Jocelyn unique and have frankly helped define our very breeding program's essence over the past 20+ years. Though like all young maiden females we offer for sale, Jocelyn comes with a future breeding to any CCNF Herdsire, we would be inclined to breed her with either 2022 Futurity HoTY, CCNF Bataclan, or if you're willing to exercise a little patience, perhaps even CCNF Camden, when he comes of age, hopefully in the summer of 2024!
