Ahhhh . . . Maple Butter. Her fleece is indeed buttery soft, extremely bright, crimpy, dense, and uniform, with well-defined staple structure. She has maintained her under-17 CV at 4 1/2 years. AOBA judge Ruth Elvestad gave Maple Butter 20 points out of 20 for fineness and handle when judging her fleece at age 2 1/2 years! And she has the calmest, sweetest personality to boot. Maple Butter had two championship awards before she turned one year old, including the fawn female championship at the 2003 AOBA halter show when she was only six months old and the youngest of all the entries in that color category. Two of Maple Butter's offspring to date remain in our foundation herd: **Calidad Baudelaire, sired by 4P Legacy, and now a working herdsire. He has exceptionally fine fleece, exceptional conformation, and stunning overall "look." Baudelaire has accumulated five blue ribbons in full-fleece halter shows. **Calidad Beatrice is sired by Lionheart's Connagher, a Felix and Hemingway grandson with dense, bright, high-frequency, low-micron fleece (19.3/3.9/20.2/0.9, at age 5 years). Beatrice is now a member of our foundation herd.

Baudelaire is the son of Maple Butter, AOBA National Halter Color Champion, and the renowned 4Peruvian Legacy (now deceased). He has that Legacy "look" with extremely fine, bright, uniform fiber. He is holding on to his fineness as he ages. Now proudly co-owned with Bent Limb Farm. Baudelaire: ***9 months: 16.8/2.9/17.3/0.7 ***2 years: 19.1/3.5/18.3/0.7 ***3 years: 19.2/3.2/16.6/0.4 His dam, Maple Butter (an Accoyo Powerball daughter) had retained her under-17 CV at nearly 7 years of age. His sire, Legacy, was well known for his lasting fineness. Sire: 4Peruvian Legacy ***8 years: 22.1/3.9/17.9/3.3 ***9 years: 21.8/4.0/18.3/2.3 Dam: Maple Butter ***4 years: 25.2/3.6/14.3/5.8 ***5 years: 24.4/4.0/16.4/3.9 Baudelaire has placed high in white classes, including four first places in 2 year old and older halter classes (including Empire and MAPACA). His exceptional conformation, proportions and long-lasting fineness make him one of the best. Baudelaire has top herdsire written all over him, and at the same time, he has his dam's wonderfully calm temperament. This male only gets better as he gets older. His first cria arrived in the fall of 2009. They are all consistent in their proportions and fleeces. AND Baudelaire throws color! Colors from white to dark brown. During the spring 2011 show season, he continued to make his presence known and astound the judges with his fineness and consistency. He never placed lower than second!! He topped off his halter show career with a Reserve Color Championship at 62 months of age. Quite an accomplishment!! The judges consistently remark how, at his age, he holds on to his fineness, consistency and phenotype. His crias area an asset to any herd. Plus he does throw color.
