Caligula Grandson says it ALL

MFG Shanghai

HuacayaHerdsire (Male)White
AOA# 811666DOB: 9/16/199925 yrs
We weren't even looking to purchase another herdsire when we saw Shanghai. He looked terrific from far away in the field. We then got up close and put our hands on him and were in awe of the density, fineness and soft handle of his fiber. We learned he is a Caligula grandson and an El Patron son, we then knew that he had to go home with us. Mary (Mary's Alpacas) said, "Shanghai had never been shown because of all the males born during that period. I'm sure he would have done well." The decision to add him to our herd was confirmed at both the 2006 Virginia Classic and the 2006 MAPACA Jubilee. In these shows he placed 2nd against many animals much younger than himself. The judges loved his conformation and couldn't believe how soft and dense his fiber was at age 7. They told the audience that breeding for fiber longevity and lingering fineness should be the goal of every alpaca breeder. We are so proud to tell people he belongs to us. He is now retired from the show ring and focuses on breeding. (He is especially good with maiden females.) Shanghai has 23 ARI registered offspring. Of these, 13 are females. Several of his female offspring have been added to our foundation herd due to their beautiful conformation and fiber. (All IGGs were over 2000.) These are amoung the best crias ever produced on our farm. Call today and make an appointment to come and put your hands on this wonderful prolific male (and his offspring that we have added to our herd) for yourself. You will definitely want to add these genetics to your herd.

Female Cria Producer

Sandhill's Minerva

HuacayaBred (Female)Light Fawn
AOA# 1125238DOB: 6/20/200420 yrs
Minerva is another great female from Sandhill Alpacas. We purchased her bred to The Aviator (Sadly, Recently Passed). We are so pleased with Minerva as she has produced 3 female crias in a row. All are exceptional in all aspects of conformation, fiber, and health. Hopefully she has passed the female producing gene to her girls. Amelia is the oldest and has produced a beautiful female cria in the fall of 2011. Minerva has produced a male cria for the first time. He is strong and healthy as was all her cria. Now bred again to Ibaque's Cupid. Hopefully we will receive another cria as nice or nicer than Cupid's Lovie. All her cria were in the 2000+ range for IgG. She always had plenty of milk and gave great care to her cria.

Service Sire: Oakhill's Indiana Jones

Lover Boy

Oakhill's Indiana Jones

HuacayaHerdsire (Male)Medium Fawn
AOA# 30939509DOB: 9/29/200717 yrs
Indiana Jones (Indy) is an Exceptional Herdsire. He was shown only once by his previous owners and was awarded a Second Place. He has incredibly fine and dense fleece. His coverage is head to toe and consistent throughout. With the champions in his bloodline he has incredible potential. More to come as he graduates to a herdsire and prepares for his next show. Indy is Full Peruvian and Half Alianza which brings an extraordinary combination to his lineage. We can't wait to see offspring from Indy. He will be bred to one or more of our top females this year. His Grand Dam is PPPeruvian Azul Celeste 4865. Azul Celeste may very well be one of the best white females ever imported into the United States. She was imported from the Rural Alianza region of Peru, well known for it's Quality. Azul is the Dam to some amazing sires including Rensselaer and El Senor and Grand Dam to The Aga Khan. Rensselaer has many Champion offspring, El Senor recently sold at auction for $165,000 and Khan is an 11 time Champion. Everything she puts on the ground goes straight to the show ring. Indiana has his first cria one the ground and she is an absolute beauty. A wonderfully perfect rose grey female out of Timpani. Her name is Akiko and has been sold to Twin Springs Alpacas. We wish Rob and Jamie the very best with Akiko.

Description

Livia is very easy going personality. A truely loving personality. She has incredibly soft handle and crimp to her tips. She wil be a great breeder with her Alianza heritage and Minerva's mothering instinks. She is bred to Indiana Jones and her baby should be awsome.
