We weren't even looking to purchase another herdsire when we saw Shanghai. He looked terrific from far away in the field. We then got up close and put our hands on him and were in awe of the density, fineness and soft handle of his fiber. We learned he is a Caligula grandson and an El Patron son, we then knew that he had to go home with us. Mary (Mary's Alpacas) said, "Shanghai had never been shown because of all the males born during that period. I'm sure he would have done well." The decision to add him to our herd was confirmed at both the 2006 Virginia Classic and the 2006 MAPACA Jubilee. In these shows he placed 2nd against many animals much younger than himself. The judges loved his conformation and couldn't believe how soft and dense his fiber was at age 7. They told the audience that breeding for fiber longevity and lingering fineness should be the goal of every alpaca breeder. We are so proud to tell people he belongs to us. He is now retired from the show ring and focuses on breeding. (He is especially good with maiden females.) Shanghai has 23 ARI registered offspring. Of these, 13 are females. Several of his female offspring have been added to our foundation herd due to their beautiful conformation and fiber. (All IGGs were over 2000.) These are amoung the best crias ever produced on our farm. Call today and make an appointment to come and put your hands on this wonderful prolific male (and his offspring that we have added to our herd) for yourself. You will definitely want to add these genetics to your herd.

Ibaque is one of the last imports. She has no documented lineage but it must have been great. She has produced 5 cria since we purchased her and all who have been shown have been winners in the show ring. As far as we know Ibaque was never shown but we are sure she would have won her share as well. Ibaque is a great mom and produces strong healthy cria with IgG's all above 1800. We have sold Excelsior's Queen "E", and Bellagio's Golith. Sometimes we wish we had not. We still own Cupid and he is our top selling stud and produces consistantly top quality cria. Always an upgrade to the dam. We ended up purchasing Ibaque after we purchased Cupid as a weanling. Being impressed with Cupid from the time he was a cria and when he won his first show brought us back to purchase Ibaque. We are so pleased with that decision. We can't wait for our Ibaque cria due in early March 2012 sired by AML Nobility. Our wait was for not. Ibaque has produced a wounderful little girl from Nobility. Born May 9, 2012, Della Lock has all the champion traits from mom and dad. We will be showing her in the spring 2013. Ibaque has been culled from breeding after this beautiful cria was born. She is going to love her life pastured on our farm. We love her and she has been one of the best foundation producers we have ever owned. I am sure Della will take her place as one of our top foundation girls in the future.

Description

Celestra has never been shown because she broke a leg when she was 6 months old. She has had special treatment on the farm getting to live with the weanings until she was almost two. We waited longer than usual to breed her making sure her rear leg was ready for the pressure of pregnancy. Unfortunately she missed going to any shows. But this does not deter us from expecting the best from her as a mom. After all she is an Ibaque progeny. She has dense fine and full of consistant crimp fiber. I feel, if shown she would have been on par with Ibaque's other offspring in the show ring. We can't wait for her cria with all the lineages being blended within her. Her cria should be awsome! Her cria is an awsome female named Excelsior's Quetsle. She has already won he first ribbons this spring of 2012. We are excited about showing her in the fall. What incredible fiber Quetsle has. Out the the Ibaque and Excelsior lines we can't wait to see the offspring from Quetsle. Celestra has produced another beautiful female cria this spring of 2013. The sire is AML Nobility. Her fiber is incredible already and she is beige like her sire.
